Hardware Xbox 360 tray won't open

Whenever I press open tray in the xbox 360 menu it won't open. I tried everything so that's why I ask for help

Sounds like the rubber belt inside the DVD drive is broken.
Opening the console up and inspecting it is the only solution.

I had my xbox stand right up so I turned it around and it works now

I was just about to reply with this solution. I had a 360 that would only open when laid flat.
