Hacking WTF?? (WBFS Manager)

Why the hell is WBFS Manager deleting .iso files that are in the same directory as whatever I transfer to my USB drive??? Anyone else seen this?

do you mean you have 2 partitions, and you have the iso files on the fat partition, and are trying to copy them to the wbfs partition, only to lose the original iso file on the fat?

if that wrong, you may want to explain a little better.

Thanks for the reply. Here's what I mean. I have 5 .iso files on my desktop including one that's going to be transferred using WBFS Manager to my usb drive. I transfer it. Close WBFS Manager and 4 .iso's including the one I transfer get deleted. The only one left on my desktop was one I had mounted using Daemon Tools, presumably because it was locked.

Hmm, i have my isos on a 16gb flash drive, but don't think they should be deleting from your computer just because they are on your desktop..... which version of wbfs manager you have? I have 3.0.

I believe it's likely you're mistaken about WBFS manager being the cause... it sounds like you have deeper PC issues.

I don't believe WBFS Manager even has access to the ISOs that you never placed in the transfer window.

No, it's a clean computer. And certainly a program can be programmed to do anything so, yah, it ccould gain access to the other ISO's.

The reason it's deleting the ISO's off the desktop is because that's where the ISO I'm moving to the USB drive also resides. I don't even think it's done maliciously. Probably a bug.

Anyway, I guess no one else is having that issue...what can I do.

actually it does the exact same thing to me..
but not desktop... i have my ios's on the root of e: drive.
and there was a thread about this.
but i use this to my advantage.
when i get the ios, i first burn it to dvd (for back up reason) then transfer it using wbfs manager.
then after that, i don't need the iso anymore...
so when i close it, it automatically delete them which is good for me.. saves one step lol.

Doing the same thing here. It's definitely not broken PCs.

Something is wrong with WBFS Manager 3.0.

Might be some sort of compatibility issue with certain things.

I'm using it on Win7. Haven't tried it on any other OS.

It deleted them good too. I just ran GetDataBack almost immediately after they were deleted and it doesn't even recognize that the ISOs ever existed.

Any ISO's that I've downloaded all goto the same download folder, are unpacked into another folder and then I open up WBFS Manager, Load the HDD then browse and add the ISO. Transfer it over, close and everything works fine. Could be if the ISO's are on the desktop maybe or the default root location for WBFS?

What drive letter is assigned to your external hdd? I read somewhere that a few people were assigning their externals the same drive letter as the internal, and this was causing a confusion with WBFS Manager.

My drive letters are assigned automatically. As well as most everyone else (I assume). I don't imaging it's common practice to randomly change your drive letter.

And I'm fairly sure you can't assign two drives the same letter..?

My ISOs are on the desktop. Even if I don't hit browse at all.. Earlier I just loaded up WBFS Manager, extracted an ISO to the desktop, and closed it. All of my ISOs deleted immediately when I pressed the x. I tried again, same result.

I had to end up extracting the ISO, then copying it to a different location before exiting the manager in order to save it.

Good thing I didn't have any ISOs there that can't be recovered.

i dont have this problem. works perfectly without deleting my isos. i back them up on a ntfs partition omy my hdd. i suggest RARing them then back the mup. it will take less space but takes hours and hours...
