I like owning some of the figures just for display because IMO, they look really nice and are from games I enjoyed so why not if one is financially able to.

You didn't even take them out of the box. Leaving things in boxes is something collectors do because they are too stupid to learn how to make grown up investments. Come up with a creative way to display them or why bother?

Maybe he's a scalper or gets off to the touch of plastic, what do you care?

Think about that on a greater scale for a bit. Do you even have a purpose? ;)

Your try at a philosophical debate has fallen flat.

I see it as a larger scale Skylanders. Just extra, yet unnecessary items that allow for an extra side income. Aside from building a power character in Smash or cross game characters? It just seems like a collection of dust magnets.

Where I am currently there's just not much space to creatively put them up for display.

This below is where I have almost everything as I transferred:

I just don't like taking them off the boxes because it'll ruin it.

Think of the movie '40 Year Old Virgin' who had a house filled with figures NIB, I just have a few of them.

My niece has the Disney 16" dolls of Elsa, Anna and Rapunzel which admittedly look really nice in their boxes and while without it they're still good, the display just isn't as appealing to me, then again, I didn't buy them so I can't complain 'bout this.

My younger sisters have Barbie dolls in their boxes from the early 90s. They never took them out so the dolls would stay preserved, though they still played with them in their boxes. Just takes a little imagination, if you will.

Just 10 years of waiting and you'll sell them for 250$ each :P

If the amiibo cards are coming then expect that to be sold out pretty quickly too because those will be collector's items too, of course in the instance of the cards I'd open them and use, while using a plastic sleeve for each one.

Why doesn't Nintendo just make a "pod" that you could buy amiibo as DLC for and upload to make it mimick an actual amiibo? Oh right, amiibo is just glorified DLC anyway. Who would preorder DLC?

i refuse to buy the cards and many people that come to my store are outraged by the idea even. the idea behind this mindset is if we dont buy them they will atleast fade away and maybe promote figurines because thats one reason people want them nintendo...

You shouldn't worry about that. If Nintendo made the amiibo cards in great numbers it'd cannibalize sales of the figurines.

Issue's that the Nintendo brand alone is more than enough to make a figure/card worth more than it should and why scalpers take every chance to make a profit of it.

I just checked eBay and there's a good chunk of sellers who've got the Skull Kid figure up for sale rather than value that they actually own it. *smh*
