Gaming would updating my wii will brick it?

sry for all the newbish questions, but as far as it goes, its not bad to be carefull..
if I update my Wii to lets say 4.1 or 4.2
would it brick it if I got a softmoded or chiped wii?

just don't update to 4.2 it's a useless update designed to destroy hb and mods and nothing more. 4.1 has a bug fix for WSS so that's safe

wss has 4.1 (it would have to have it i'd say) no game so far has 4.2

no dead space doesnt have 4.1 update. Im on 3.4 and i can play it.

even if it's only because we can't know whether or not you are competent enough to follow a couple of steps, but seeing that you can't even use the search-function, you might as well be a monkey?

UPDATE to 4.1 if you a noob.
Update to 4.2 once you leave "noob island".

Follow the guide, read through it on the stickies. Remember follow EVERY STEP, don't skip, if something is CRAZY and it gives u a weird error. Break it down to specific words and use the search function on here. to find out about it.
