Homebrew Would I brick my Wii by formatting it?

I am going to sell my Wii and it has the homebrew channel and bootmii on it. If I format it and update it to the latest firmware (its on 4.3) will it break it. I don't want to do anything wrong that might hurt it.

It shouldn't. You might have to remove the HBC yourself via the channel settings if the update doesn't wipe it out.

Just a local Game exchange. I doubt they would check to see if it has homebrew and give me a better price.

Formatting won't harm anything, though you may have to manually remove the HBC. No one will give you extra money for the homebrew anyway.
