According to information someone submitted to gamefaqs it's coming to North America in 2007 sometime.

Basically you use your nunchuck to move the character, and Wiimote to throw/swing your hammer.
Many people reported sore right arms for excessive swings, but seems to get very favorable reviews from players.

I was playing the jap version earlier today, it is quite fun actually. Although it seems overly simplified, and probably really linear gameplay.

It sucks to be region locked, I'd already imported it if Wii weren't...
