If you need Region Patching, I think you might... Otherwise I don't think so. You should really ask that on the YAOSM forums, though...I don't need to try running the YAOSM configuration disc before I can get a backup to work, do I?

Well, I can't take this anymore! I had it working fine with the Wii open, but when I went to close it it stopped working. So I opened, it worked, closed, it didn't. Now it's open and I can't get the damn thing to work again. Ugh. This this is shoddy quality at best.
EDIT:  My Wii DVD drive is really loud now. I guess I wasn't able to get the drive screwed down tightly enough, so it must be resonating and making a fairly loud buzzing. Someday when I have more free time, I'll have to open it up again and screw that bitch down tighter - and I spose I ought to pray the Wlip doesn't move at all or I'll have to start all over again.Â

Well, looks like if I complain again, they'll swap out my Wlip. I think I'll keep it in there for now as it's working perfectly fine, and I've mostly got the drive rattling noise gone. Though at the first sign of failure, I'll be requesting a new Wlip.QUOTE said:Wlip team,
I ordered a Wlip (model A) from DiscoAzul on 01/24/2008 to use with my DMS Wii without cut legs. I'm trying to use a YAOSM modchip with the Wlip, but I have had no success. I believe my Wlip may be defective since no adjustments can be made to make the Wii recognize a game backup. Can I get a replacement Wlip mailed to me and return this possibly defective Wlip? Obviously, DiscoAzul has made a terrible business decision to not allow any returns/exchanges, so I'm hoping you guys will help make sure my 31 EUR (48 USD) does not go to waste by sending me a replacement Wlip. Thank you.

Dear sir,
The chipsets of Wii are not the same size. Also, you must know, that the cut legs are cut to differents length depending of console. We are sorry if you don't make the installation successfully.
Have a look this video, is the correct way to install. Yo have to press the Wlip firmly:

If you continue having problems, you must consult our Advanced User Guide and with the aid of a multimeter (it is important that the multimeter has a range of at least 20 megaohm) it is possible that you have to make a little adjustment.
If you have more queries or problems, please don't hesitate to contact us again and we'll swap your Wlip.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Best Regards!
That latter, short it for good... I've found that is surprisingly hard to do and I've done quite a few silly thingsA user from the yaosm forum posted these pictures:

Wow that looks dire. was certain it wouldn't be as good as it sounded, reckon that piece of junk will in many cases either a) do nothing and never work b) short the wii for good.
Use solder people.
This is why i don't order one i am just getting a friend to solder it we will see how he does on his first lolFighthouse said:They are in stock again, and so are the Wiinjas. Looks like they decided to put them in stock at the same time because they are meant to work with eachother. I just bought one of each, but i was surprised that shipping was over 40 bucks!
I received my Model A Wlip yesterday, although I just ordered it Wednesday, so the shipping was pretty fast from Spain to Germany.
I just opened my Wii and put the Wlip on the drivechip. It was very easy and it worked at the first time.
Soldering my Wiikey to the wires of the Wlip was also easy.
A big thumbs up for the Wlip Model A ! (But it´s way too expensive)
You couldn't have posted that two days ago when I got mine and paid the ton of money for shipping.
I have a cut legs D2B. I'm going to post tons of pictures, and a video or two of my experiences. My Wlip has an expected delivery date of 2/22/08
I really hope this works, because I don't know anyone, and cant grind away at the Wii myself.
