just soft bricked there but was able to restore using safemode....i knew there was trouble when it installed the last file in about 14th position....i think its nver????

Ho crap ? It's the first soft brick report i think. Was there an error on screen or what ?

nope no error just installed last file about 14th in list then installed others then said it was gonna reboot....but it froze...

i was watching the files install and in about 14th slot or thereabouts it installed NVER. Now NVER is supposed to be the last file to install. it then installed more files, says its gonna reboot in 10sec then just froze?....i checked all files pressing A it reported back all GOOD in green....pressed Y it checked everything again then done as i say.....its an N3DS it was on 9.6E now on 10.3E

EDIT.... Was using Browserhax on N3DS 9.6.....when i held down power button to switch off after 5 mins or so the CONTACT NINTENDO screen flashed up.

It's said in first post to update to 10.3 before downgrading. I guess it was your problem ... (even if i didn't understand all what you said , also your explanation is vague)

why was explanation vague??? it was installing cia files fine to downgrade. in after installing about 13 or 14 it installed nver. Now unless ive been on a different planet NVER is supposed to be installed LAST. so after seeing 13 or 14 cia files install. when i saw NVER install i knew there was a problem. it then proceeded to install a few more cia files. then it stopped and reported that it was going to rebbot in 10 sec......so where is the vague there?????#

It's an old 3DS?, here (https://3dbrew.org/wiki/Internet_Browser) shows 1.7567 as fw 7.1.0-16 , the next is 1.7585 and appears on 9.5.0-23

In my case, NVER has been updated midway just like you, but the downgrade went ok nonetheless.
Are you sure it was softbricked ? Did you try to remove your SD card after the downgrade ? Mine was showing a black screen because of menuhax installed. After removing the SD Card it boot correctly.

Are you sure it was softbricked ? Did you try to remove your SD card after the downgrade ? Mine was showing a black screen because of menuhax installed. After removing the SD Card it boot correctly.

i was using Browserhax, and yes i removed sd card. when i clicked on the spanner (system settings) the loading 3ds screen was stuck in a loop and i could not enter system settings. So yes softbrick for definate.....but hey!!!! alls good...

EDIT.....I am POSITIVE I have seen NVER was held back to be installed as the last file. Thats why I posted what had happened...Maybe the op is not aware that NVER is installing other than WHEN it should....No big deal....Im happy....thanks to the dev for all his good work. i am most appreciative.....honestly

i think the icon shows as a question mark (?) if no smdh file is placed in sysUpdater folder.
