More like you just saved his n3DS, It's one of the reasons for a hard brick i think.

btw, finally got past the init-> and was able to download, am I out of the woods so to speak? is there still great chances of bricking the 3ds when installing rxtools or reinand?

If you downgraded, very first things to do is a NAND BACKUP (directions should be included in any tutorial, tips:emunand9tool). Then you're definitely good.

Just use this to check if you had a successful downgrade. Then if it it says you have a successful downgrade, then I think you're good to go installing the CFW of your choice. Or i guess it doesnt matter since I think this tool already checks it for you before hand.

worked on the 4th try, did the ftBRONY -> quit to SafeSysUpdater. using a MH4U edition n3DS, downgraded from 10.3.0-28u to 9.2.0-20u. thanks!

oh, auto-reboot didn't work for me too so i waited a couple of minutes (too scared!) before turning it off.

Just tried it and it works like a charm, thank you!
Maybe that's too much but can you add latest NVer support please? 9.2.0-28 can be used to restore eShop access easily while still working like 9.2.0-20 in other aspects

9.2.0-28 and FreeMultiPatcher in sysNAND to enter NNID settings and restore NNID and then EmuNAND (now that even 10.3 N3DS EmuNAND exists) to use eShop. This kinda works without latest Tiger or something else

another n00b question, after downgrading to 9.2 i can't seem to load menuhax, is that normal since i downgraded?, do i need to redo the steps to install browserhax and menuhax?

Yes, you need to do browserhax -> enter HBL -> install menuhax. The motive it's because the menuhax tries to load with the information of your previous firmware, that's why doesn't load. Installing it again makes it to run in your actual fw (9.2)

Just wanted to say Thank You for this tool.

I received a new New 3DS today (overall the 5th 3DS console I bought lol) with firmware 9.6 and updated it to 10.3.0-28E right away. Then I copied the files onto the SD card that came with the console and checked the integrity of the update files. After that I started the Homebrew Launcher with ninjhax 2.5, started FTPbrony while mashing b and finally started the SafeSysUpdater. It crashed the first time after I pressed Y (dots on the top screen), but on the second try it went right through without errors. It just crashed after it tried to restart (some pixels on the bottom left). I waited 5 minutes to be safe and rebootet. All seems to be fine.

Edit: It was an incomplete downgrade. I couldn't enter ReiNand or install csi files with FBI. Had to upgrade and downgrade again.

So I downgraded with this sysupdater. I'm on 9.2. , ran the downgrader check and says the native firm is 2.46 (the same as 9.2). When I try to run the browserhax via QR tries to load a video instead of sliderhax, in the other hand, ironfall doesn't work (super mario 3d land / MK 7 and majora's mask all boot correctly) . So I suppose this is a success?, can't test the emunand and CFW until I get a bigger SD, I used the 4gb that came with the console to do the downgrade.

Ironfall does not work in 9.2
