hey guys so i tried extracting a rar file it was tiny it was only like 60kb but its an .exe that i need, when i extract it, i goto look for it in the folder i extracted it to and its not there. So i think huh musnt of extracted properly so i tried again but this time i get a message saying would you like to overwrite the existing file or copy and replace, yadda yadda yadda..... so im a little confused why is the file that i extracted in the folder but i cant see it. ive tried turning off hidden files and folders to see if it was there but nope. my antivirus hasnt deleted because it was a virus. im using winrar to extract it and im on windows 7 any help?

Have you tried to extract it to a different location or tried a different program to extract it (are there any other programs that can extract .rar in the 1st place)

some antiviruses don't even show notifications when a potentially dangerous exe pops up, they just delete them off the bat.

Yeah, like Cermage, this has happened to me before. If you're worried, just turn off your internet (and your AV) while you do the extraction. A lot of times when the 60kb rar file is something along the lines of say, a keygen, AV will just go and delete them without warning.
