Gaming Windows 7 Custom Icons

Anyway....

to add the extension manually, go Start --> Type "Index" & hit ENTER --> Advanced --> File Types Tab --> Type in "nds" then click add. Go back to Types and select nds. Click on the cog and under the Icon tab select your icon.

Go back to "Types"? What? Can you show us a screenshot of that step? I see no cog ._.

Download Types 1.3.0 from my other post on the first page & launch it. Follow previous instructions. (Scroll to nds & click on it) Here's the screenshot:

Personally these are the ones I use: NDS Icons

I don't remember the original source but I kept all the icons. I use the one labeled "NDS Icon - Lite Black" for NDS files & the one labeled "SAV Icon" for SAV files.

Thanks, it worked for .ndsfiles, but for some reason when I type sav in the indexthing to add .sav file compatibility, it somehow won't show up, not even when I click refresh now or when I restart Types.

You can use Resource Hacker to change program icons, but its not for complete noobs.

It would probably just be easier to use IconPackager.
Thanks, but what we're looking for is to change the default icon of a file type. And does nobody have an idea on why types won't accept .sav files?

The icon a file uses comes from the app it is associated with, so you should be able to change document icons in the exe with ResHacker. There could be an easier way, but i dont know what that might be.

Well the way Jonjon95 told me worked well, just not for .sav files.
EDIT: I finally got it to work after over 9000 tries, still no idea why it didn't work before.

That's strange...I had no trouble with any of them...
