You used dolphin as a point. Ugh. It runs "okay" at best. Add in the fact that we're looking at a gimped X1 that would be slowed with the mobile OS running in the background and performance would be... Meh...
Its just 1 point among others.

But my point stands, because its possible. i mean if people wants to do it, let it do it.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. More power to you.

I'm more interested in installing Linux, myself.

Using android as a Dual Boot, will grant you access to plenty of new areas, i must remember you that Dolphin its already running on Android, as well as Dreamcast and other good emulators, its like telling F0F why would you install Linux on a device that runs a Nintendo Os, the answer is, Why Wouldn't you?
F0F running Linux on a Switch and the average user booting Android on the same device is two different things.
People like F0F running Linux is merely a proof of concept and them trying to display the potential of their work. F0F don't run Linux thinking "Man, I can't wait to get this working so that I can actually use <insert feature> on my Switch". They're actually doing this "because they can".

We on the other hand aren't really contributing towards the development of this stuff. So our interest should normally only be in the usability and the usefulness of the things we're downloading. Me downloading and running Linux on the Switch would be stupid if I had no use for it. There's no bragging rights in it for me because I'm not the one that made it happen. Someone else did all the work and I merely used it for the sake of it.
But us guys using Android makes more sense because there actually is some usefulness for us in that idea. If you want Android just because you can, then that's stupid IMO. If you actually want to use Android then fair enough.

My android is just 1KB :P.

Anyway I'm sure there must be some custom roms without blootware with all crapware removed for way less size... Though I never really had interest in installing a custom rom or messing with the kernel on any of my devices...

I only rooted my older phone because its low rom space was pissing me off so I just rooted and erased almost every crap including themes, backgrouds, ringtones... at the end I ended up saving around 400MB :)

Why Android on Switch?
more games

just root all your phones. its sooo much better

Nvidia shield tablet already has controller mapping app and internal storage, no point for me to root it...

My Sony Xperia Z2 also already have DS3\DS4 drivers built in, I don't care to root it either... I don't even play games or do anything on android other than WWW, almost no apps, no assbook app, nothing, I just barely use Google Chrome...

"Why not?"

Plus, Android and possibly Shield TV games

Provided it's powerful enough for the same things Shield can run. You know how people are always shitting on its lack of power.

"Waah waah waah, the Switch isn't powerful enough to do this wah wah wah"

why wouldn't switch be powerful enough to run shield tv games?

despite having the same core, Nintendo has the x1 clocked lower than the Shield TV, and that's considering docked mode.

edit: in the condition that the shield tv is NOT thermally throttled.

OT: if the switch would get android, IMO gaming isn't even the best use for it. If one could get Nvidia's Smarthome up and running, you would basically integrate what would be similar to Google Home/Amazon Alexa into your switch. But that ofc would require a lot of work
