Darth Vader PSP-2000
going to order a Pandora battery right now from dx..
latest official firmware

will I be able to hack it if I have the latest firmware?

does custom firmware behave the same/have the same features as the OFW? Like internet radio (the same way Sony has it) etc?

after Im done hacking do I still need the pandora battery? Can I use it as a regular battery too?

yes your psp is hackable
yes custom firmware behaves the same as ofw

YEAH you should be able to hack that with no problems its quite an old model and yes internet radio will still be there but you can also use HOMEBREW PSP radio which is a lot better with more stations and better interface to use it

re using it as a regular battery IT DEPENDS on what battery you get if its just a basic one then probably no as it boots the PSP into service mode as soon as you turn the PSP on!

if its a Switchable Battery tool/pandora then yes you switch it to NORMAL mode and then it's usable as a normal battery

Thanks. Here's some new questions.

I would like to change the casing to silver like the one on Sony's silver PSP OR preferably one with a matte silver finish.. anyone have any suggestions? Is it easy to replace all that stuff?

i suggest you look at youtube videos on replacing skin on psp and see how easy it is yourself
this may be challenging for people and easy for people

Well I disassemble a lot of things and do stuff like make my own arcade sticks so I guess not a challenge then. No special screwdrivers?
