Tried using the new build with OpenGX on my Wii/CRT, but 240p isn't working. Guessing the devs are aware of this. Otherwise, WiiStation seems to have fewer frame drops. Looking forward to the next official release.

Hello guys , why i have some games post 97 that don't detect my analog or any input, it just doesn't detect dualshock, I have to change them to normal for input, for example wild arms 2, shadow tower, MegaMan legends, and others, why ?, is it maybe my bios? I'm on GC controller, and another thing, can it be made that we GC controller users don't have to press R or L to the max for it to be recognized, thank you

By the way, along with analog controller support, how about an analog support for NeGCons (a twist controller that is used to play Air Combat, Ridge Racer series, etc.)?

Namco NeGCon had 3 pressure-sensitive buttons (I, II, L), 3 digital buttons (A, B, R, Start), twister, and a D-pad. Is anyone in need of support for this NeGCon twist controller yet? Thanks.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Analog_Joystick this controller here provides analog control that is separate from negcon and dualshock support, wiistation right now only simulates a dualshock and not a regular analog controller. Would love to see either this or negcon support make it into Wiistation but preferably the analog joystick more since it supports more games.

What's the new folders setup to test HID joysticks? Just the Nintendont usual and that's it? Does it use the "0E6F_0185" names, or the full names from the github?
The ini files must be placed in a "controllers" folder:
root:\\wiisxrx\controllers\0E6F_0185.ini

The ini files are bit different from those of Nintendont though. Samples available here: https://github.com/xjsxjs197/WiiSXRX_2022/tree/main/Gamecube/release/controllers

However, I (and many others) never succeed to make Wiistation recognize my Dualshock 3 (054C_0268), which works well on Nintendont and Snes9xRX.

Two guys claimed here that they use their DS3 on Wiistation, but each time people ask them how they achieve to have their DS3 detected, they never answer...

Nice, thanks for the info. I'll test soon then, I already had a DualShock 3, and was sent a pair of used DualShock 4 and DualSense for homebrew use, so I could check those too here. What I found already is that Wiistation is incredibly unstable when loading games from a USB flash drive, it stops loading after one or two games.

I kept running into similar issues with my USB drive, but would it be the same if i use one of my portable HDDs, all because of that stupid thin connector.

Controller tests done. Here's the results:
- PlayStation Classic SCPH-1010: Perfect.
- DualShock 2 (USB to PS 2 in 1 adapter): Perfect.
- DualShock 3: Perfect.
- DualShock 4 v1: Perfect.
- DualSense: Perfect.

Small bug: the four face buttons are all scrambled (PSC, DS3 and DS4), with the letters configured in the emulator as a mishmash of Nintendo and Xbox controllers, the buttons also do not correspond to their original function (with the exception of B, which does work as Cross). You will have to manually edit the controllers ini or create a new default button configuration.

Couldn't test rumble, as it seems to be completely broken. I even checked against WiiSXRX 4.0, used a Gamecube controller and a Wii U Pro Controller, both work without issues with rumble (Tekken 3, Metal Gear Solid), but the effect is not there on WiiStation. I used this build.

Weird people. Why wouldn't they tell you?

Press the PS button in the menu, to activate the controller. Done.

EDIT: Two more controllers tested and added.

Do you run Wiistation from SD Card, and DS3 plugged in usb port 0 ?
Or Wiistation from usb device in port 0, and DS3 in port 1 ?

I tried both, and when I press the PS button while in Wiistation main menu, the 4 leds blink, but the controller is not detected (pressing buttons do nothing).

I tried two genuine DS3 (europe), with 2 different usb cables: they work correctly in HID_test, Nintendont, and Snes9xRX (pressing PS button before launching the app)... but none with Wiistation.

I also tried to force HID controller in "configure input"... no luck.

I really don't understand what I do wrong lol

Thanks for your test though, the problem is on my side then.

Wiistation rumble works on my Wii U Pro controller if I enable analog in the controller settings. It won't work in digital mode.

If that's the case, it's a bummer it was removed as a feature, as not all games support the Analog setting (a big lot of the PSX library), which is why I left it working like that on WiiSXRX.

Didn't try from USB again, since as I stated, it is extremely unstable, it could stop loading mid game, while loading a second game, or hang the console on exit most of the time. Port didn't matter, it works on both, as Nintendont does, which is were the code was lifted. I get to the menu, press PS, and bam, working. You can even hotswap the port in real time.

Thanks, I'll try again from SD Card then, as I have no problem with USB flash drives (except the DS3 not detected of course ^^).

If it is possible to have rumble without analog support, I'm definitely in favor of enabling it. Hopefully the devs will do so.

My first console was a SNES, followed by an N64, then GameCube, Wii, and Wii U. I never had anything from Sony or Microsoft, so it has been fun revisiting old PS1 games to experience what was going on with other consoles. Recently I played through Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the first time and it was pretty fun... using the Wii and a 27" Trinitron with component, giving a premium 1997 gaming experience. Except for some stutter on the Game Over screen, the game runs very well.

Using the Sony controllers gave me a new appreciation for the PSX games, a console I didn't grew up with or even had after a decade later. My girlfriend gifted me a PlayStation Classic and I was eagerly curious to try the bundled controller with the Wii emulators. After spending some hours making the controller ini, I was having a blast playing Mega Man 8!

Nice. Too bad the PS Classic was bad received by critics and public, also it was criticized for using an already free PS emulator which is PCSX-ReARMed, which isn't so madurated nor accurate yet.

EDIT: yeah i know nowadays u can update the PCSX-ReARMed emulator on PS Classic via hacking and other things, lol

Nah, who cares about the public reception :D. It is about what you get from those electronic devices. I immediately hacked my PSC and got extra hooked playing PC ports like GTA III/Vice City, Perfect Dark, Ocarina of Time and Dreamcast emulation (could you imagine having those on the Wii, too?), and a new, much more improved default selection of included PSX games, all without using the external USB. And that's not even covering the cool controllers, which can be used on almost any console or laptop with a USB port! Playing with those on the Wii has been very funny and unexpected. :yayps3:

You know what else is cool about the PSC low worldwide sales? LOW PRICES. It tends to be cheap, great quality, and very useful for emulators and ports.

Hi everyone,

First of all, I just want to thank everyone for their hard work. It's really amazing to see how the WiiStation community has taken shape and is still active after all this time. I've been following the project for over two years now, and I see that pretty much every month — almost weekly — there's a new build released. I try to update whenever I can, even though I don't get to play much. Still, I’m always keeping an eye on things. Huge congratulations to all of you — it’s honestly incredible. The PS1 community on Wii seems even more active than the N64 emulation.

That said, I have a couple of questions. I'm using the latest build, and I noticed that the saves and savestates folders were missing from where they should be. I started playing CTR - Crash Team Racing, and after hours of gameplay, I realized nothing was saved. I had to manually create those folders for it to work.

Also, since I decided to get back into playing PS1 on the Wii, I’d like to understand some of the newer features — like separate save options, OpenGX, etc.

Could you guys give me a quick overview of how the emulator currently works, and how to take full advantage of all its features?
  • Did anything change in how the save system works?
  • Do we really need to manually create those folders now?
  • What exactly is the “save settings separately” option?
Sorry for the long message — I just really want to be up to date with all the recent improvements and how they work in practice, so I can get the best out of this amazing emulator.

Thanks in advane!
