There is an option to open playlists in MplayerCE, but I haven't tried it. Should work though, at least someone told me to create a playlist if I want to play many MP3's at once.

Do you think you could make it so it reads HFS drive cause no other wii player does that and it would be awesome if you could.

looking forward to it, the white of the wii will go nice with an ipod themed media center (IMO)

Well, I would like to see a Vid or Pics first...I mean, I would still use Dragon Media Player if he would have USB2.0, and have a bit more features. And this sounds like a realy good project. MPlayer-CE isn't a only Music Player, and I would love to see something like that...I still miss "proper" Skipping, random, etc....

Let's see how this looks...I wish you luck

.

I wish I could code (better). I can only do some Copy-Paste...otheriwse I would do something like that for the DS...

The next MPlayerCE release will have NTFS/FTP support, people would know if they take a look at google code often. Playlists work if you know how to create them.

This seems quite a good idea for music, wouldn't mind seeing them preview pics.
And why should average users often stalk you source changes? The next release will have it, ok but the current has not and we don't know when the next release will be finished.

anyone interested in Mplayer-Ce would check its gcode page or alternatively come to #mplayer_ce on EFnet.

the next few versions look very promising.

It will support FAT 32 with no lag and maybe USB 2.0
Also u will be able to create playlist from ur wii and play them also

Well thats really unfortunate had it supported NTFS as well this would be one hell of an app but ill still give it a try when released.

it baffles me why so many people want NTFS its a fail of a FS and there is absolutely no reason to use it whatsoever.

the maximum file size supported on a fat32 file system is 4gb.

exfat cuts out that limitation of 4gb filesize. exfat will become the standard fs for the sdxc. but actually it's optimized for flash memory. it's allready supported by xp with sp2, vista with sp1 and i guess win7 will support it as well.

this sounds pretty neat , i'll be keeping an eye out for this !

edit , i deleted what i wrote because i aint checked out mplayer ce for a while so not sure whats actually available ! D'oh

I have some doubts about whether your project is real (anyone remember the DSO continuation project?) But at least you've set a release date and are claiming to upload pics and vids.

I hope you can prove my doubts wrong because it would be a nice project

if it can play music via smb i will be extremely greatfull.

mplayer ce is coming along brilliantly as a media player, but is obviously focused on video, not music.

i just want a good solid music player for the wii that will play via smb. dont care about video, just want to browse to a folder shared on my main pc with all my music, and have it play, and skip to the next song, shuffle, repeat and an equalizer would be nice too
