I got a Wiinja V2 coming in the mail. Unless I see native homebrew support from DVD, or the V2 is miraculously disabled via Ninty, I'll hold onto my V2. I can count on one hand the amount of imports I've ever really enjoyed, so upgrading is not a big deal for me. Everything these newest chips can do can/will be done with a swap disc anyway.

Damn, I still haven't gotten my Wiinja v2 yet, and now theres a Deluxe?

Since the region-free patcher is released, I could care less about that feature, but I'd love to be able to use RW discs to try out games.

i think you would care about upgrading it.
People tend to expect way too much about the upgrading feauture, with no DRE's anymore, cross-region compatibility in the highest level possible for simple mod chips and all, what do you still expect to be updated?

if nintendo ever tries to stop it being updatable will be very helpful

its a dvd drive mod, not a firmware mod... nothing about the console changes. only the code telling the DVD drive that it's a real disk...

this is better then the v2 by far, the ability to play some other regions games, the true dvd+r support (no bitsetting), and the optional power off switch make it all worth while, i was going to get a wii key but this seems more tempting... as for me i couldn't really care about the upgrade feature so that won't even come into contemplation when i purchase a chip

I don't care about any modchip anymore for the moment. I have my Wiinja V1, I have the Wii region patcher, I have no DREs so I'll wait for the ultimate modchip before removing my Wiinja...

that why you should get a upgradeable modchip = ultimate modchip

does anyone know whether this is the same kind of chip as the V2? If I could do a straight swap out I'd buy the deluxe but if it involves desoldering my old V2 and resoldering this then I couldn't be arsed with the hassle

Yeh does anyone know if the solder points for deluxe will be the same as the ones for V2? I wanna buy one riiighhhht now but gotta be sure its the same install.

Easy Soldering & Remove / 6 Wires
I have a Wiinja V1 and I have some DRE's error too.
But, In order to solder my Wiinja V1, I used to solder 5 Wires...
The other wire (the 6) to solder is so small too ?
Nobody arrived to have 0 DRE with Wiinja V1 ? Because I don't know if I will bought a Deluxe because if I bought it, I will go to look with a professional anymore...

damn the price went up? i was gonna get it cause it was 34.99 but was waitin for a review to make a final decision bout whether or not to go wiikey or wiinja dx (i like the wiinjas power off feature, but if its jsut a normal PIC chip im skeptical about the whole upgrade thing)... either way, if i go wiinja dx its gonna cost me more now
