Hacking Wiikey Update finally released

Ok I send my Wii to the moder, he changed the chip several times and still gives me the error...

Maybe that´s why it´s taking so long to update...

I initially too just figured "Ah, the hell, if Wiikey is gonna release the official thing soon, I can go with that, too"

Well, with every passing day, I'm growing closer to just use the damn thing, so I can finally play Ikaruga and Eternal Darkness

i forget where but i heard some people have to do it twice (maybe more) times in a row to get it to work if it says error the first time..doubt it is your connection if the original setup disc worked.

So if I update my Wiikey with this, will Wii import games still work or will I have to wait for Config Disc 1.3?

this is a stupid but how exactly do you update your wiikey!??! i burned setup disc 1.3 and its works but i cant find anything on the menu that says update . im tried to google it but theres no one talking about it....=/

the 1.3 disc is the setup disc

not the update disc

Wii import game's are working.

I thought it will disable the control check of configdisc1.2 and other disc like Freeloader, Action replay, etc.
But Region free is no more working. Even my old GCOS compiled iso is no more working, and Import GC is not working.
Only GC has bad effect, all Wii games are working.
I updated so Starfox audio will work, but now my other games are not.

I too am getting the "ERROR: check your connections" message. I reburned the image twice and I get same problem. I got my wii modded from a store nearby (297chip.ca). Does this mean I absolutely have to go back to these bastards make em rip open my wii again, unsolder the chip, reprogram the chip, resolder back to the wii? Or is this problem the reason why the WiiKey team is taking so fucking long for the official release?

Yes. I dunno about Wiikey. But I'd assume that if even Wiikey came out with a release, people would get dump the code and change it to work on the clones anyways.

Try setting regionfree to on again.

Did you tell him the problem about changing the fuse values? Has he gotten the update to work on his own Wii?

it looks like some clones cannot be updated, i think the fuse values are set wrong, but is it possible to reprogram the atmel chip?

Damn I updated my Wiikey with the 1.9b firmware yesterday and since then I have a big problem...the Wii keeps rejecting discs 95% of the time.

I made a video showing the problem and uploaded it on youtube, here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbEeaQbfpc0 You might want to turn the volume up to hear the quite long lens noise when booting up the Wii.

I'm pretty angry b/c before the update everything was fine :/
Does anyone know how to recover from this ?

did you turn region free on again.. if they're not of your region..

Thats what my wii was doing not long ago, opened it up and everything looked fine to the eye...I took some pics on camera and zoomed in on them on pc, still all looked fine. I had installed with the short wire method, so I took off the wiikey and did a long wire (1 inch) install, and it has been fine ever since.

My wiikey was working solid for 3 months before it did what yours is doing now...i would check your solder points.

the sound is not normal, did you try to run the updater again? or use the recovery disc?
