Anyone try regular Mini-DVD backups of GC games instead of multi using Gcos? pnut

Yep tried a few work exactly as expected. Just need to get naruto and a few others and my GC collection will be complete!!!

wii PAL wiikey original v3.0 wii firmware


hey , i updated to 1.9b wiikey firmware as soon as i saw it was leaked , all my wii games and current gamecube backups work.

Gamecube: (metoid prime 1 and 2 , luigis mansion, mario kart , RE zero , smash bros, mario sunshine )

But just today i aquired a copy of starfox (Star_Fox_Adventures_USA_GC-RARE) and burnt to a verbitim disk @ 3x the same way i have burnt all my gc backups and wii games ( BTW . All my 15 wii backups still work perfect ) but starfox wont boot up from the wii menu .WHY

is this because of the firmware upgrade or possibly a bad image?

use gcos to boot it... the new update needs the 1.3 cofig disc to activate direct import booting ability.. it's in the readme and already said a 1000 times

Hey guys, I'm having a small problem. After the installer does the test to see if it can flash the firmware, it fails and says the WiiKey might be installed incorrectly. However, it plays every game I feed it perfectly.

Now, there's a possibility that my futzing around with the install disc may be responsible. Here's what I did:

-Removed the line from the batch file that appends a bunch of useless 0's to the end of the disk to make it fit exactly on a DVD
-Did make-multiv3 to put the 1.9b installer and 1.2 configure on the same disk
-Burnt it with OS X's Disk Utility at 2x which has worked for all my backups
-Tried it on my 3.0U NTSC Wii
-Got to the installer with the big assed woman, let the thing go up to 100%, got "ERROR: Please check your connections and try again."

Do you think that the above may be responsible? Or is it possible I installed incorrectly? I was suspicious that I may not have soldered one of the contacts correctly, but I've tried backups of Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario and WarioWare (all NTSC) and they all work great. Original Wii games and GCN games work alright too. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure I don't have a WiiKey clone, I got it from modchipcentral which is on WiiKey's resellers list, and it came with a hologram.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the Wiikey soldering points is for DVD upgrading and if that isn't soldered correctly then DVD upgrading won't work but playing games will. I hope that helps. And I got mine from modchipcentral too and they're legit and I updated them just fine with a 3.0U Wii. However, I would recommend you putting 1.9b update on one disc by itself directly from your region's respective ISO without modification. Hopefully this helps.

Really? That'd probably explain it. (If I remember correctly, the one that I may or may not have soldered correctly was the leftmost diagonal contact in this picture.)

i updated to 3.0e and booted my action replay through gcos, everything works find and dandy, but you will need the patched version of 1.2 config disc first though.

Just as another point of confirmation, all my GC backups are on mini-DVD and they all work fine with Wiikey thanks to the now finally leaked audio fix.

EDIT: Yeah it wasn't released, it was leaked... no credit for Wiikey team, EURASIA WINS!

Well, all of a sudden NTSC Wii .iso's that couldn't get further then the Black screen I got after clicking on Start at the Wii menu (when games got recognised but didn't played) they work perfectly now! Also, I have a feeling games get recognised faster then before.

i need help guys, i already burn the 40Mb image to my sony dvd+r at 4x. But, when i put the disk in, my pal wii 3.0E can't read it and i get black screen saying error has occurred. can anyone help? thanks!!!!

Oh, i burned using nero... it originally ask for a CD but i changed it into DVD..

What games are you referring to? Games that aren't supposed to work according the wiki? Because some
of the NTSC games worked on the previous version.

updated today and it worked great
1.2 setup disc works again now.
audio fixed, ntsc games still boot using gcos multidisc so im happy about that.

all good, cant complain.

by the way its a pal wii fw 3.0e with an official wiikey incase anyone needs to know.

nevermind, i managed to burn and update thx to shuny's 4Gb iso ver.

1 question though, has anyone managed to play bleach? i still can't play it. thanks

@inde: how did u do it? did you directly put the dvd with the 40Mb iso burned in it? coz my wii can't recognize the disk, always error occurred. thx..

Use ImgBurn instead to burn...

updated today and it worked great
1.2 setup disc works again now.

thats the thing, before i updated to 3.0e my 1.2 unpatched setup disc was working fine, as soon as i updated to 3.0e and inserted the unpatched 1.2 setup disc and clicked on start i got a error message, i then downloaded the patched 1.2 setup disc and burned it to dvd, it worked first time with no error messages, does it have something to do with the region override? as i belived that the 1.2 setup disc would work perfectly after i updated to 3.0e with 1.9b installed aswell.

I just updated my PAL Wii to 3.0E and the WiiKey to 1.9b. All Wii games still work, but the dvd-drive makes a lot of noise. Noise that wasn't there before the update.

Anyone out there with the same problem?
I already tried both 3x and 6x speed.
Let's hope that the new configuration disc solves the problem.
