lol i'm glad you don't

and it's always been the case with any modchip on a various consoles, the clones are the far insuperior ones, a good example is the matrix infinity modchip, there is clones available that if you mess with the settings the chip dies, how crap is that? why risk buying a cheap knock off when you face the risk in the long run? it's like saying to people it's ok to buy cheap crappy food from the supermarket, it won't kill you and it will taste the same when it blatantly doesn't and tastes like crap.

people have a right to complain about features that haven't been working as advertised, it gives the company a good reputation if they solve the problem quickly and not ignore the end user completely, the matrix infinity has had a good reputation for being one of the best modchips on the market for the ps2, why? because of frequent updates and because of good quality build, a good community and so on, this is one thing the wiikey lacks completely.

so what you are saying is you are happy to buy a unfinished product, it's like saying you would pay full price for a ps3 without no hard drive and still have a big grin on your face.

not everyone wants to play just jap games, i myself would like to play usa games that are in english without waiting 6 months for a pal release, why do you think thats a bad thing?

I fairly sure I don't remember mentioning food in my previous post at least lol. But yes, not all clones/fakes are good! e.g. Fake branded razor blades that can cut up your face!

people have a right to complain about features that haven't been working as advertised.By features I assume you mean the small problem with the audiofix. Who cares about the audiofix?! Stop moaning about such superficial things! PEOPLE ARE DIEING IN THE WORLD AND ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS A STUPID AUDIOFIX!!!!111
Did you honestly spend £180 on a Wii just so you could play GC games on it?! Just play the games on a GC for crying out loud. And if there are GC games you havn't played yet, you've gone several years without playing them so what's the rush to play them all of a sudden? Geez.

so what you are saying is you are happy to buy a unfinished product,Well I guess so! I am happy with my Wiikey, it plays Wii games, it does everything I want it to. What else do should I want it to do, make me breakfast in the morning too?

This part doesn't even make sense and does not do anything to support your previous point. Speaking of the PS3 though, I saw one second hand (60GB version) for £250 the other day, seemed like a good deal (didn't buy it mind you).

Games take ages to come out in Europe? NO WAI

THAT'S NEWS TO ME! Seriously though, it's Nintendo Europe what do you expect? Have you been living under a rock for the last 17 years? You should know what to expect by now! If you're that upset about it import a Wii from the US like I did *smug*.

Anyways Wii game compatibility is the same across the modchip board, so it wouldn't matter what chip you bought, and it's hardly WiiKeys fault you live in PAL land. Blame Nintendo for going back on their word and region coding their machines!

but, but, they paid $10 of their hard-earned cash (2 hours at minimum wage?) for their clones and they damn well better let them pirate everything. There is no excuse for anything less! Greedy Wiikey bastards!

What would be really funny, though, is if Wiikey were the ones putting out the clones also. Then these suckers buying clones in defiance would actually be supporting the evil Wiikey corporation.

Looking at the region compat list on the Wiki, there seems a good bit more red in the PAL-to-NTSC/U chart than there does in the NTSC-U-to-PAL one. I gave up on trying PAL games after many failed attempts.

Either you were kidding and I didn't get it, or you were dropped on your head as a child. People have a right to voice their disapproval over a product that they paid for. What a Wiikey update has to do with people dieing (sic) all over the world, I'll never know. You can pull that shit with anything. For example:

"You're wasting all this time bitching ABOUT other people's bitching?! There's an AIDS epidemic in Africa!"

well I really do hope the update becomes a reality so this can end. and I don't even have a wiikey (wiinja deluxe here)

I think the whole situation has been blown out of proportion and I'm absolutely sick to death of reading so many idiotic and pathetic comments on the subject. People couldn't just be patient and wait, they just had to whine and bitch how their beloved Wiikey won't play their crappy Japanese games on their PAL consoles, or play their GC games properly because their too cheap to fork out for a modded GC. They expect a company who profits from the sale of a product deemed illegal in most countries to have morals and standards, most of whom don't have the morals to purchase original games themselves. They can't be content for just one moment and can't appreciate how lucky we are to even have such a good solution to playing backup games so early on in the consoles life. They've turned the forum from a place of discussion about games into a place where every other post in a release thread is 'will this work on my PAL machine or brick my Wii'. It's ridiculous, it's pathetic, it's tiresome and I'm fed up with it.
I think this pretty much sums up my feelings too. I know it's kinda cliche now, but piracy is a privilege, not a right.
As someone else earlier in the thread said, it's similar to some pothead crying that his dealer ripped him off. There can be "honour among thieves" (from what I can tell, certain parts of the scene are pretty good in this aspect), but it's simply a matter of good-faith, not a matter of what some person who does not intend to pay for their games "deserves". So sure, it's ok to be disappointed, but ranting on and insulting this and that and complaining is a little bit less than constructive - we could most definitely do without it.

Remember, these modchip companies stand to make large amounts of profit from allowing people to play stolen games, there is no point expecting any large amount of support from them. If they do support their product well (they will if they want to maximize profit and popularity), that's great, but don't keep your hopes up.

I will once again say that I'm more pissed that the audio fix problem affects LEGIT games that otherwise used to work on the Wii before installing the modchip. That is all.

What exactly is that audio problem?
Is it that real legal games you have bought will have audio problems?
I have several legal cube games, all of which are working perfectly now ofcourse. Will they have problems after I install a wiikey?

From what I understand, yes. The Wiikey has no disable switch from what I gather, and is probably activated regardless of whether you insert a backup or an original.

Yes, that's correct. But only GC games with streaming audio have problems. My legit Eternal Darkness and Starfox Adventures don't work anymore with the Wiikey installed in the Wii. I don't know why we shouldn't be allowed to complain about the fact that the Wiikey broke the compatibility with such games.

ok, thanx for reply.
well that's stupid then. I think I'll just wait then and see if they fix this first.

i've also heard something about a new upcoming chip, from a team that also develops some xbox stuff. are those just rumours or is there any real news about that?

I 'm starting to get my hopes up ever since eurasia confirmed the update. A gc fix is a given (about freaking time) though I sure hope the update corrects certain region issues.
