Hacking WiiFlow Lite

Yes I'm talking about real nand now.

The game in question supports both, DLC from Nand and from SD Card.

When booting the game in question from the SD Card, then the SD card collum is grayed out and it tells me: "No SD card inserted."

Similiar behavior I have in Animal Crossing City Folk, where it tells me it can't take a screenshot because there is no SD card in the slot. (But there is! I'm booting the game from it!)
that's interesting. sorry but i have know idea why that happens. have you tried running the game and then remove and reinsert the SD card?

so some quick google searching I found.

for animal crossing city folk - it only likes regular SD cards less than 4gb. not SDHC or SDXC.

it seems you may need to use wad2bin to convert dlc wad files and put them in the proper folder on SD. plus make sure you use a cios which wiiflow does.
so where did you put your dlc on SD and is it in .wad format or .bin format?
does just dance 3 actually say no sd inserted or does it just not show your dlc that you know you have on SD?
 
If I reinsert the SD card while running the game from it, wouldn't it just crash?
But yeah, this whole issue is why I started fiddling with emunand in the first place. I just couldn't get my SD card recognized in games.

ALL Games say there is NO SD card inserted. It's not a matter of placing DLC. It's acting fully like there is nothing inserted in the Wii.

Edit: And it's also not a matter of a wrong/bad/cheap SD Card. I tried multiple in different sizes over years. :(
Edit2: And it's also not game specific. I'm 100% sure you can replicate this yourself with any game that uses the SD card.

I was wondering, it seems Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles games when I install the DLC it overwrites the game in my emunand? They didnt show up when I installed all 4 wads, 2 games 2 dlc, but when i installed game only i see it with no dlc....do i have to launch the game and the go back and install the dlc later?

edit that seemed to work.
this is a great program. Only two things I want is it seems it can’t rip games from disc and when I have a game that uses neek2o it returns to sytem menu on exit instead of going back to wii flow like I have other games set up to.


also does anyone know why several metal slug game don’t work because of video mode issues over component cables but work fine over av rca cables, I tried to use the patches in the loader but did not help.

you have to use priiloader to autoboot wiiflow when you start your wii. place this file - https://www.mediafire.com/file/tj13pbiab8whsgq/Priiloader-Forwader-Loader-DWFA.dol/file on the root of your sd card and set priiloader to autoboot it. now when neek2o returns to system menu priiloader will autoboot the wiiflow forwarder channel which will launch wiiflow (wfl).

hi, sorry to bother, i've a question.
i've started to see how to play with coverflows...
wiiflow gives you the possibility of changing title parameters under "game selected" section (the X one) but, after saving, no text are displayed even if it's correctly previewed in the coverflow editor.
this happens to me with every theme, also the default one.

is this behaviour hardcoded?

if so, i think it should be useful to show titles also when a game is selected considering that you can scroll games without exiting the selection and titles maybe be not so readable in covers. and, if you still don't want titles, it's very simply to move them out of the screen adjusting coverflow.

do you use a USB HDD for your wii games or just SD card for wii games?
Sorry for the late reply, had no power for a few days and some how managed to miss your question.
My Wii games run from the SD card. I only use a USB flash drive in Wii U mode, I have tried with this drive removed and it's the same. The wii homebrew channel has internet it just stops working when WiiFlow is loaded.
 
just started using wiiflow, works great so far! lovely interface and it's highly customizable. i have one question tho, is it possible to show gc games and wii games together? i tried searching for an answer but didn't find any

game title's do not display whenever a banner or snapshot are available. banners can be disabled by turning the game volume down to zero in main settings. disable snapshots by renaming the folder they are in or just not using them. there is no way to show both the title and banner/snapshot that's the way it was coded a long time ago. personally i would think it would be too much on the screen if we included the title.

extract to your dev:/wiiflow/plugins folder.

now start wiiflow lite. on the main cover screen press 'HOME' on wiimote to open the HOME MENU. now click on 'SELECT PLUGINS'. in the window that appears you should see five choices. put a checkmark in the ones you want and go back to see your covers.

the five choices (if i remember) are wii, gamecube, homebrew, real nand, emu nand.

I tried both of your suggestions with no luck unfortunately just says "network initialization failed" when trying to connect to the internet.

Hello recently, somehow the topic is quiet, I wanted to ask fledge68 if it is planning to release another version of wiiflow in the near future? thanks :)
i might take v5.5.3 beta and make it an official release. but other than that it may be a while before any future releases. with spring here i've been bombarded with stuff around the house to do. i rarely have time to answer questions on here or github.

I understand and thank you for the information, it is better to wait calmly and release something stable / official than to play unofficial beta etc ...

- disable splash image and wait animation if direct launching a wii game (via wiiGSC).
- added option to use nands not vwiinands when on wii u. set manually by changing [CHANNELS] use_vwiinands=no in wiiflow_lite.ini
- fixed using hermes cios in the rare case you ever need to use it.
- other minor code changes.
 
@fledge68 does WFL honour the replay gain tags in OGG files? The reason I'm asking is that audio files from the plugins pack are different in loudness and normalisation with vorbisgain has not resulted in any equalisation of the volume during playback by WFL.

i don't know and i doubt it. its just libvorbis from devkitpro.
