Why the data directories was changed in R27?

In my opinion, it brings no benefits, but only confusion!

I hope there will be no second GX. My hair stood on end.

I think backward compatibility is very important. Just like what CFG Loader did.

+1

I also would like to see that the old wiiflow directories will still be supported (the directories can be set in the ini file, so just read the configuration off the directories from there). I rather liked the separate wiiflow directory....

lol, that's a minor thing anyway.. I suppose it's just a line of code with the path

got a C exam today, maybe next week I'll take a look into this project, sounds fun.

oh well....

i've had a look at this R27 , and it's cheat code management.
it doesn't work for me.
when i select "cheat code" , i get a "no cheat code found for this game" , so i click on "download" , and nothing happens......only the "CHEATS" title disapear.....
I've restarted wiiflow , and checked again in the cheat menu : still nothing.

I've tried with NSMB , cause i'm sure there are codes for this game.

i've had a look to my HDD , to see if something was downloaded , but with no success.

Maybe i've missed something on how it works ?

About my themes :

- there's only a little bit of work to get back the game menu in order BUT :
i can see things coming , as stated by some posters above me , that it will get into a new "usbloader GX" style , with many many revs , and everyone trying to add some things on their side.
So i've decided to fix my themes only when all devs will agree on the way wiiflow must be continued , and all features will be added (i mean the "sort by category" one , which i think will add some new buttons and will force the themers to modify their themes again).

All i want to do is modify my themes only 1 or 2 times , and not to be obliged to modify them 2 times a week because of new things added on every rev.
And of course , i don't want a second loader GX , more buggy than usefull

Well okay since the complaining already starts

.
The reason for the directory change was simply that you can send ZIP packages directly to HBC and it will extract everything into apps (including wiiflow.ini, themes and so on) and since you can change the path in the wiiflow.ini anyway i thought it wouldn´t be a big problem at all (and much cleaner so that you don´t have so many directories in the root for whatever application).
However if it´s now really wanted i will just change it back.

In terms of themes i personally don´t want to change anything on the design or so ( only if it´s really needed
wink.gif
) and about the cheats i need to look why it doesn´t work from USB.

Sorry nIxx... but are in dev's of wiiflow now?
didn't knew

However...maybe ppl should have given the chance to configure wether is under SD:\wiiflow or SD:\apps\wiiflow

To be honest...i prefer it under sd:\apps\wiiflow.

It's cleaner and organized.

I believe this , but some modifications will be necessary , and in my own case i prefer to do them all at once rather than modifying 2 times a week.
For example , the cheat menu , you could have added the button on the last page of settings , instead of the beginning , and third-party themes wouldn't have been affected by your modification.
there was a free space on page 3 in game settings , why not using it ?
now it results in a mess in this menu when you use a third-party theme....

QUOTEand about the cheats i need to look why it doesn´t work from USB.

that's what i meant when i talked about a "usbloader GX like"....
get a beta tester group , and release your revs. only when you're sure it works.
don't throw "untested revs." in the arena , or it will turn into a disaster quickly , and an unreadable thread.

thanks

PS : could it be possible to get an updated language.ini , so that we can translate the new words of the cheat menu

I guess I'll post this on the google code page if there's a wiki section for reporting errors, but wanted to share this:

Occasionally when using wiiflow, after selecting a game, the system hangs at the loading screen (just before safety screen) and rebooting both the hdd and wii does not resolve this.

I actually have to put a disc in the drive and load it, then quit back to Wii menu before I find that the issue has resolved itself in wiiflow so that I can once again load without probs.

Strange, but true.

Are you using IOS 249 rev 13 by any chance

not in my R25....so i assume it's on your mod for FAT/NTFS support.
and i assume too that when you release it , there will be a conflict with Nixx rev in this game menu again.
(in the Nixx rev , there's no free space on page 3 of game settings

)

Ditto...i was one of the original translator/testers of this .

Happy to help

Sorry for the double post, but I have one more thing to say about the cheat code management. I think it should be a great idea to add a button to update your cheats for a specific game. The space for a new button may be limited, but in your game settings at the right of "cheat Codes" you have a button called "select". You can add a new option for this button called "update" when cheats are found on the SD card.

Also, if you really want a challenge you can add an option to change the value of a cheat code. Could be useful for Mario Kart, because sometimes you have to edit the cheat to make it work.

It is a pleasure to see some updates Wiiflow.

Do you think adding the option "category" coded by VIP ?
Personally, I have made my categories for WiiWare, VC, HB and Wii games.

And good luck for the integration of FAT / NTFS support.
