Hacking WiiConnect24 Safe?

Is leaving WiiConnect24 on considered safe? Wiishop/other channels dont work without them on. You cant do specific things in pokemon ranch either.

Heh I asked this awhile ago. I was told its safe, just make sure that you have the disc light turned on to either bright or dim so that you can see if it is doing anything when you don't want it to.

Say my little cousin updates to the a new firmware, it would just be a semi brick right? I have preloader .27 installed.

It's safe, been turning on since I got the Wii. Nothing wrong has happened

And system updates.

You'll be okay with Preloader installed since you can boot through that, then get into the HBC, then reinstall a systemmenu that works.

Don't worry about having WiiConnect24 on. They can't FORCE updates on you. You have to go to your messages and click update for that to happen. Don't worry so much.

And also, they can't ban you on servers or any of that either.

I don't know why people get soooo paranoid. =]

Nothing will happen.
And if I recall right semi-bricks happen when you update to a different region than your system menu (i.e. Updating from a US Brawl disc on a PAL Wii.)
