Hello everyone,

First time poster here. I decided to make this post since I am having issues with my Wii U. Currently, my Wii U will not boot up to the main menu. It stays stuck on the Wii U logo indefinitely.

There are a few things to note about my console. The console is the black 32 gb model. I believe it was bought during the 2012 holiday season (release) as we were expecting to play Pikmin 3 before it got delayed. The system has never been modded in any fashion. It was not the most heavily played console, and I can't even give a good estimate of when it was last used (at least more than 3 years).

I have already tried doing the UDPIH, however it does not seem to be working. When using the second recovery menu, I get a white screen with some blue lines (see attached image). I believe this is similar to what @fadafwet described in his post. I was able to get the logs from the system, which I have attached to this post. Any idea what the issue may be and how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated.

I checked all 5 resistors, and all 5 had essentially the same resistance (33.2 ohms if I recall correctly). I didn't check CLK since it seemed too difficult, but I did poke all of the SD card slot pins and the GND pin seemed to be loose. Resoldered that and decided to test out the Wii U again. My first 7 tests all seemed to indicate that the problem was solved. I've attached the first two logs because the first log was different from the rest.

Unfortunately, the next 4 tests gave the iosPanic message, but this time it was different than before. I don't see the MEDIA errors like we did previously, so I don't know what the issue may be (if there even is one). I've attached one of those logs. If there's an issue, I can try to check CLK as well as 3V3.

Test1 has media errors, it looks like the sdcard was flaky there. For Test2 not sure, but it seems it hang. And the iosPanic one probably crashed because it didn't see the mlc

I tested the 3V3 connection. It looks like the NAND-AID is receiving 3.333 V, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. The last thing to check is CLK. I was a bit confused as to whether or not I'm supposed to be testing continuity or measuring the resistance for that connection. Also, is there a picture of the via for that connection?

I think I'm also going to try reflowing/resoldering some more of the connections and see if that helps. Is it possible that there may be insufficient GND? Has that been an issue for anyone else?

There is no resistor so you should measure close to zero resistance. Use resistance mode, continuity might also beep if there is some resistance, which would indicate a bad connection

I just wanted to drop a quick update. It looks like the CLK had a bad connection as I was reading 80 ohms. I resoldered that pin and got a read of less than 1 ohm. Went to test using de_Fuse again and it still looks like something isn't quite right, so I tried reflowing the CLK connection to the board as well as the 3V3 wire to the NAND-AID, but I didn't have a chance to test it yet. I'm giving this update because one of the logs had some interesting looking things, and I want to make sure nothing new has gone wrong. I've attached two logs. One of them is the system getting held up, and the other has iosPanic messages with "Heartbeat Failed".

I'm surprised to hear that, but I'll take it. I guess since I'm not getting media errors I'm good on that front.

I still intend to test patch and boot again so I make sure I didn't mess something up with the reflow (also test the resistance of CLK again since I reflowed it), but setting that aside, how does one reinstall the menu? Is that through UDPIH or de_Fuse (I guess minute to be more exact)? Using my intuition, I'd say it's one of the MLC titles and needs to be reinstalled using wafel setup, but I'm just guessing.

The recovery has a Install WUP option, which installs everything from the install folder on the SD.
If the recovery doesn't work you can reinstall the menu using the wafel_setup.

EDIT: you can use the attached wafel_install, which just installs, whithout triggering the initial setup

Used the wafel_install and have attached as much of that log as I could (I left out all the lines relating to me turning off the Wii U). It might be worth noting that once it got stuck on "alive", I noticed that the light was orange, but it may have been orange beforehand.

I removed wafel_install from the ios_plugins folder and did patch and boot and additional five times just to see if it worked, and I believe it did. Each attempt appeared to give the same results, ending with it getting held up on "alive". All attempts looked similar, so I've only attached the log from the first attempt.

Sounds plausible. Did you notice something that would indicate corrupted data? Also, would I have to run wafel_destroy_mlc again (meaning I'll start from scratch, which isn't a big deal)?
