Hardware Wii U stopped working with my capture card

I've been recording a lot of footage with my capture card but since last week I don't get any input signal over HDMI. I didn't change anything on the settings. Well, component still works fine but it doesn't look that nice though.
After some probing I think the issue is the Wii U because the capture card still receives signal from my HDMI TV receiver.
While changing back from component to HDMI while the Wii U was being connected to my capture card the Wii U crashed o.O
So I changed back to HDMI mode with the TV being connected it.

That's strange, which capture card do you have?

I have a Hauppauge HD PVR 2 and it sometimes refuses to accept my Wii U's image via HDMI, I just gotta keep unplugging it, close the capture card software, restart my Wii U, start the software again, etc.
Signal works fine from other consoles, Wii U works when it wants to. Sadly not familiar with Blackmagic cards

Try using OBS to capture footage. I use the Elgato HD60 PCI-E HDMI capture card and I find OBS to be better than the card's own software.

I should try me secondary Wii U soon though.
I'm using OBS as well because Media Express (the capture software that comes with the Intensity Pro) is nothing more than a diarrhea.exe :/
