You can create NNID while spoofed.

Cons :
You can't reinstall your real version file.
You need NNU patcher to connect to Eshop.
You need WUP installer to install game updates.
You can't install a game update at game launch (WUP needed)
You need to filter Nintendo update servers to prevent the console from downloading/installing new system update.

pro :
You can launch games and connect online even without updating the console. (that's the main purpose of the spoof)
Your console is still on the old version, allowing old hacks to work. (in case old ones are better, because nintendo fixed them with newer version so you have less available vulnerabilities after an update)

If your console is version 5.3.2, it has a file where the version number is stored (the "version" file contain the text "5.3.2")
you install the "version file" which contains the text 5.5.0, and the game only look at that file to check your current system version, so the game thinks you are on 5.5.0 while you really are on 5.3.2, only the "version file" is updated. This is called spoofing.
Now, if you want you can install another "version file", but only higher, for example 5.5.1
You can't go back and reinstall the file which contains the text "5.3.2".

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
