Hardware Wii U signal error on TV?

Hello, my Wii U won't pick up a signal on my TV.

I have tried to hook up an AV cable (from my original Wii) from my Wii U to the TV, but it doesn't pick up a signal when I have it on the AV channel. I’ve also tried to hook up an HDMI cable from my Wii U to the TV, but it doesn't pick up a signal either when I have it on the HDMI channel.

Also, my gamepad is dead and a friend of mine borrowed my gamepad adapter, but she went away on vacation with her family for 2 months, so I can’t change the settings.

Could it be an internal/system problem? Would it be best to just wait until they come back? I just want to play it as I got new games for my birthday last month. XD

It also worked the first time I used it.

Reset the Wii U console by pressing and holding down the power button on the front of the Wii U console for six seconds. If the Wii U console does not reset, unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet, wait 15 seconds, and then plug it back in.
