Hacking Wii U Pro Controller to PC program release

Would anyone happen to know how to change "Prevent installation of devices not described by other policy settings" WITHOUT using gpedit.msc? I have Windows 7 Home Premium and it doesn't come with the Group Policy Editor.

I think I was able to get the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack installed correctly, because I believe that I got around the Windows Stack continually reinstalling itself...but when I try to find the Pro Controller, the Toshiba Bluetooth Manager can't detect it. (When I tried connecting the controller to the previously installed Windows Stack, my computer detected the controller and could connect to it, but naturally, it wouldn't work with the controller mapping software.)
 
Well well, It's been some time now, but my exams are finally over and I just started working on it again. However I will not give you any ETA because I know it's just going to be like the last times and I'll not make it in time. Just stay tuned.

Awesome! I just wanted to know if it was still being worked on, I don't expect a 100% done simple install file that makes the computer see it like it would a logitech controller or something any time soon

You know, you ought to consider taking this project open source.

Maybe get it up to speed to a certain point then release the source for it and let other people contribute to it. It would probably appease the guy who wanted the controller to be interpreted as DirectInput aside from purely XInput.

I think you did took care of the biggest problem (getting the PC to recognize input from it) and once you add XInput support, let other eyes take a look at it and see if they can take it that extra mile for full compatibility.
 
Is the toshiba driver a trial? It said 27 days for a while and when i rebooted it now says 19. After it gets to 0 does it keep working?

not sure if youre still having a problem, but... start>run>regedit

navigate to
HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceInstall\Restrictions!DenyUnspecified

information on the setting:
Specifies a list of Plug and Play hardware IDs and compatible IDs for devices that cannot be installed. If you enable this setting, a device cannot be installed or updated if its hardware ID or compatible ID matches one in this list. If you disable or do not configure this setting, new devices can be installed and existing devices can be updated, as permitted by other policy settings for device installation. NOTE: This policy setting takes precedence over any other policy settings that allow a device to be installed. If this policy setting prevents a device from being installed, the device cannot be installed or updated, even if it matches another policy setting that would allow installation of that device. If this computer is a Terminal Server, then enabling this policy also affects redirection of the specified devices from a Terminal Services Client to this computer.

I've seen this solution before, but the problem I'm running into is that when I get as far as 'Windows' I don't have the DeviceInstall path, so I can't get any further. Should I try adding the registry keys for this? If so, would I change any 'values' within 'Restrictions!DenyUnspecified' or would I just create the registry 'keys' to that path to get it to work?
 
i have win 8 laptop and bluetooth card 4.0.
i downloaded toshiba bluetooth stack 9.00.03 and when i press on AS.exe it is sayng :"installing bluetooth driver".
and when it's done nothing happened . how do i fix it?
 
it's not wii remote it's wii u pro controller (nintendo) .
and the program doesn't works. when i press on AS.exe this is show up:

and when it's done nothing happen and it's make noise like somthing connect and disconnect.
 
nope, it's not ask me anything with this version and i have onbaord ( in use) and usb (not in use).

Did you test the version from the link ive sent you?
You said the onboard bluetooth is in use, do you have any drivers installed for it?

I think you have to right-mouse click on: Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0+HS
-> "update driver software..." ->" search on the computer for driver software" -> "choose from a list of device drivers on the computer" -> Select the Toshiba Driver ("Bluetooth V4.0 Module(0225)")
So it worked for me. (I have only the german version of windows 8 so I did not know if the translations are exactly like in the english version.. )
Often after a restart of the PC I have to Install the old Driver and then the Toshiba again before it worked but it is so nice to play with the pro controller :D

Sorry for my bad english :D
