@Loller06 Anything that's possible with a standard Linux cmdline should work...I don't see why that wouldn't either. Give it a shot and let me know!

I won't be able to test custom disk images (other linux-wiiu priorities take precedence, real life notwithstanding).

Actually whenever i try to boot both of them, i get the same error: "Kernel panic not syncing VFS Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,1)"

Does this mean we could eventually use wine and play older pc games?
Wine doesn't run on PowerPC. Even if it did, it would only run PowerPC Windows programs unless an x86 emulator was bolted onto it. (There was a project for this on PowerPC Macs called Darwine, but it's long since been abandoned.)

Support for the DRC as an additional display might be implemented eventually, but no guarantees on that. We'd either have to have linux-loader reserve additional memory as a DRC framebuffer (we set one up for boot logs, but Linux is free to use it as it pleases afterward) or implement proper support for the R700 GPU.

Regarding the GPU: assuming *shudders* it's pretty much identical to any old AMD R700, Linux already has a driver for it. The catch: it expects to communicate over PCIE, and the Wii U's GPU just uses memory-mapped IO IIRC (don't quote me on that).

I was getting the restarting in 180 seconds problem so I reflashed it until I realized that just the usb has to be in the top slot, not a hub with the usb in it, duh

ok so i've successfully installed both xorg and lightdm i think since i could connect with my phone, but not ldxe since i had to go
now when linux is booting it shows for a brief second the login page and after that just a line in the top left like computers and it's stuck there
ok so i re-writed the clean image to the usb drive, downloaded and installed everything ya'll said for gui.. same result.
but after first reboot it says "starting dailty apt something activity" and then i got the blinking line
now same thing ;-;

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

ok so when i connect and disconnect stuff it's still detecting it and says something
it might be because that i selected "generic keyboard" on xorg installation?

This isn't specifically a linux-wiiu issue, it's more of a general Linux configuration issue. Google is your best friend.

couldn't really manage to find something that will fix this issue without writing again a fresh-install image to the drive. i guess i need to install different gui stuff
