both giving me errors; tried to do apt-get update, error (some index files failed to download), trying to install xorg alerts me about taking space for the program i click y and then millions of errors of failed to fetch x, lightdm same thing, lxde same thing..

you need thether your internet from bluetooth to work or use a usb network adapter

guys the recent comments shows to us that we really need a step-by-step end user guide in how write and the steps until see the gui with the options like lxde, enlightenment, gnome3, mate, budgie, cinnamon, kde, openbox, xfce or any other to they free choose what they want to use/test

I might be able to flash and use lubuntu, so ill wait before writing a guide with the actual linux distro

i don't have any gui yet but i knew i would need a mouse when i'll install a gui so i tested an adapter from the back ports which has 3 usb outs, and it works, so that kinda sloves the issue of not having a mouse

wifi is not working, if you don't have ethernet adapter you can use usb tethering from phone.

Once you enable usb tether type: "dhclient usb0" on wiiulinux, from there install some gui "apt install lxde lightdm".

yeah i was trying to do it, turned out that i used by accident WIFI hotspot instead of tethering through usb
thanks it works know. im pretty excited :D
btw after getting the gui will i be able to connect throught wifi?

ok when im installing xorg it starts to download and in the end gives me fetching errors, idk if the thing worked so i moved on to the next installations

wifi is not enabled yet, so no wifi support even with gui, but you can tether from your phone using bluetooth instead, just download a bluetooth manager.

Once you install your gui I recomend install "apt install synaptic" a package manager, it's similar to an app store :)

@Loller06: the USB doesn't have to be in any particular port, as long as it's in one of the back two. It can even be in a hub if you want.

@LasPingas: sounds like you don't have an Internet connection. Either get Bluetooth tethering working (I'm not an expert on this, but it should be similar to most other Linux systems) or use a USB-Ethernet adapter (the latest kernel should have support for most of them compiled right in).

EDIT: @Gunstorm (sorry, missed your comment at first): right now, this is firmly a work-in-progress. We're focusing on getting things functional before making them fully end-user ready.

Last edited by CompuCat,
ok so i've successfully installed both xorg and lightdm i think since i could connect with my phone, but not ldxe since i had to go
now when linux is booting it shows for a brief second the login page and after that just a line in the top left like computers and it's stuck there

Do you have to make a EXT partition on your USB or can you just disk image debian onto a regular one

I keep getting a -5 error, I also can't get it to work loading through HBL so I have Haxchi A button forwarding to CFWloader

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

my default is still system menu but I get a -5 error from Haxchi everytime now lol

lol I had to do a browser exploit and reinstall Haxchi, I don't know what I did but it didn't like me editing Haxchi's pathways

I can't plug in my usb drive, keyboard and phone until I get a usb hub but at least it's working
