Honest mode on: I want piracy
Honest mode off: I want to play my backups
Sad, but true. I for example still buy games i plan to enjoy online with friends. However considering the price of games like xenosaga atm, i'm not willing to blow money out of the window. So i still support the companies to some extend.

I think talking about such things is getting ahead of ourselves, anyway. I just want to see the console 'unlocked'.

I'm talking about the fact that there is next to no worthwhile homebrew for the PS3, and most of the community revolves around warez. What little there is (the usual emulator ports, one media player, and a few games) seems to be secondary to CFWs with warez support, warez loaders, and support tools like file transfer apps, and warez is basically the first thing that came out.
Well custom game load support also gave us several translations + preservation. My 360 scratched several original discs, laser died on FAT PS3 with bc, laser died on FAT PS2 too. Media player and linux are nice too.

Since the common key has been leaked & the kernal exploit is coming, I have disconnected my wii u from the internet. Also, since a 5.1.1-5.3.2 exploit is inevitable, I am discontinuing my SmashStackU project. We have made good progress on understanding the file system and added a boot file for if we get code running. Someone might be able to decrypt the .bin files with the common key, but I don't know how. Fork it while you can at github.com/ibbycode/smashstacku. I will delete the repo sometime tomorrow. Something that might be required for those who want to work on the project is to convert boot.elf to the .rpx format. Finally, I have one question for DEVS. Will the kernal exploit grant kernal permissions in the RPC. If so, would there be commands added to view/dump game binaries (I really want MK8 custom track and would love to develop one of the first ones).

Why deleting your repo?

Why are you deleting it, that doesn't make any sense, why can't you keep it?

Bro, for the kernel exploit, it's "up to 5.1.1"(confirmed), "5.1.2 to 5.3.0"(tentative), and "NO. Do not update past 5.3.0 if you can help it."
Read the sticky: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wii-u-homebrew-situation-and-faq.367627/

Or do you know something about 5.3.2 that the mods here don't? Because I would update my Wii U to 5.3.2 with light speed if the kernel exploit is actually "5.1.1-5.3.2" like you said.

I'm pretty sure MN1 has confirmed that the kernal exploit should work on all versions.

School decided to give me a lot more work after I made that repo and started working on it. Also, I don't really have the skills to work on it. I know some python and that's it. The best I could do for the project is understand the file system (sorta) and test. If someone else decides to fork and continue the project, I will still follow and possibly contribute small things to the project. There's only so much a twelve year old can do. I've started the project, and someone else can continue it. MasterF0x and kee7a have dibs on hosting the official project since they have contributed the most to it (sorry WiiUGold, you did nothing). They are much more capable than me. All I have been able to help with is hosting the repo and uploading files for MasterF0x since he doesn't have a github. I hope people who were looking forward to the project don't get upset. It's just that I've realized that a SmashStack Wii U exploit mght be harder than I thought with NX and a bunch of other things.
