Well, I think they will actually patch userspace, they just have to update the stagefright library and it's not difficult to do. For the kernel it's more difficult because they don't know what is the vulnerability used.

Best situation: all entrypoints re-added, new heap overflows for every last IOSU ioctl, no stack canary, every IOSU module gets svc 0x53, ...
It's all speculation. It's especially hard to say since 3DS and Wii U are starting to hit life-support with very few exploit fixes b/c of work being shifted to NX.
