This only removes the downloaded update... you need a NAND backup to downgrade.

I blocked the required IPs, but it downloaded update anyway... I typed one of the IPs into web browser on my laptop and it was unable to connect. How could it download update anyway if IP is successfully blocked when trying to go to it on PC?

These are the URLs you have to block, if you can't access any of them from your PC/Smartphone, you can turn on your Wii U and nothing will download:

I had issues trying to block earlier today but managed to get them blocked, but what I really would like to know is if it allows online play? Splatoon? Or will I have to wait until we get emuNAND?

Try it out!
I guess it won't work but you can play the Singleplayer at least!

I have the kexploits and can play online..all you need are the latest updates for the DISC, not the WiiU. :\

Trying to block IPs instead of URLs is useless since websites in general have redundant servers and thus multiple IPs for the same site. Also those IPs are subject to change anytime so blocking IPs themselves isn't going to work. You really have to block the URLs using the Opendns method or your router's URL filter list.

IMHO anyone seriously interested in homebrew should already stop updating firmwares.

Yes, running this will then allow you to run TCPGecko, Cafiine, or your own special programs that need kernel access.
