Few days ago i got my wii u and everything was fine, today when i played some games (battery was freshly charged) battery was full, i wanted to see what kind of battery goes in gamepad so i opened battery cover and unpluged battery while gamepad was on, when i pluged battery back in and turned gamepad on it it was showing that battery is empty (and red LED was lit up indicating that battery is low) even tough battery was fully charged

I am afraid that i messed up battery calibration when unpluging it while gamepad was on and i am now afraid that if i charge it it will overcharge (since it is actually full) or that it will shorten battery life now :(

Please help.

Should i be concerned?

Okay then you have at least one solution here. Let your gamepad uncharge completely, it will turn off (screen, sound, etc.) will turn off on the GamePad. Then, remove the battery, reset the counter by pressing a few times quickly "Power" on the gamepad. Then, re-make that battery calibration and you should be good.
