Hey guys,
I have a second Wii U. It was given to me by a relative. It's a 32GB version with Hynix MLC. It flashes blue and there is no picture. I can't turn it off by pressing the power button for less than 1 second. I concluded that it's an OS crash. Caused by a defective MLC. Strangely enough, it now boots up every time but gets stuck on the Wii U logo. So I reinstalled minute menu and isfshax via Paid the Beak to back up the Seeprom, opt, and slc.raw files. Now I've ordered a nand aid and everything else I need and want to install it. I followed the guide for this. However, it fails at step one, i.e., the SLC+MLC backup. I want to start the recovery menu via UPIDH. When I plug in the Rasperry Pico as soon as the Wii U logo appears, the console shuts down. I have tried different timings. Either it makes no difference and the Wii U gets stuck on the Wii U logo, or it shuts down immediately. I've already googled it but can't find anything. Unfortunately, there is no paired gamepad, and in this state, I cannot pair a new one.
Thanks in advance for your help.

UDPIH needs almost a normal running OS, which is rare for many bricked consoles, like yours.
If you do not care about the data, and since you have isfshax installed, just try install a new OS using redNAND.
If the installation stuck at "go go go..." then try:
1. download and use the latest ios v10 for mlcsetup install, thread here
or
2. If it still stuck, since you mentioend seeprom+opt backup failed, maybe go further on redNAND, redirect seeprom and otp.bin, but this needs a health console/donor. instruction here

I installed REDNAND and now it boots with error 160-1400. What does that mean?
It's sorted. I forgot to reconnect the drive.

Should I just continue with the Nandaid tutorial? I would like to have the SD slot at the front free.

Just for fun, I followed the rebuild MLC guide. It worked, and it booted from the normal MLC. Does that mean it's intact after all? However, it now shows a white screen after setting up the network, but the sound is still there.

I restarted it and then it worked. I set it up completely, tested it, then removed ISFSHAX etc., and now it boots without an SD card. I don't understand it. According to the troubleshooting guide, it should have been a defective MLC. So I'm glad that wasn't the case, but I don't understand it. Is there a chance that it is still defective and the new installation will become corrupt again?

It is likely a defective MLC, think this as a corrupted thumb drive that lost all data stored on it, you can reformat it (rebulid MLC in your case on the wiiu) and by chance the drive can be used fine, but not for long, depending on your luck...

Uninstalling isfshax is not a wise move. keep it installed for precautions.
