Hacking Wii U DLC Install Require RedNAND?

I was taking a look at this guide:

and see that it mentions that you can install dlc with the method shown. Is that assuming that you already have installed this redNAND thing? Is it a requirement to have redNAND to get the DLC installed? I have a lot of games already installed using the WUPInstaller/Brazilian method.

Yes, if you wanna install DLC backups, you will need redNAND.
