I thought the topic was about the Wii U analogue stick/circle pad, not Sony.
Try getting that across to Guild, then come tell Nintendo fanboys that can't do the same.
I giggled
It's gotta be me for not seeing Guild's reply here, but.. Wait what? Oh, he didn't even reply to this topic.. /off-topic about Guild being the reason for the Off-topic :3

Also on topic:
Is there a tablet already in existence with some kind of slider pad or stick?

If the OS really works that fast, it could actually be a reason why I'd order a chinese rip-off. If only using emulators wasn't frowned upon in the west :I
As long as you have the original cartridge, they can kiss your sweet a$$.

As far as the OS is concerned, the first two things you do with that sort of thing is installing a clean ROM and ROOT the s*it out of it to get rid of the chinese crapware.

The hardware is actually *quite impressive* for a Chinese knock-off product. I mean, it's an Cortex-A9 ARM coupled with the Mali-400 - nothing to be ashamed of, really.

Actual performance in an actual review lol. ;)

The only problem I have with the 3DS circle stick is my thumb slides off it. Now if they used what the Neo Geo Pocket Colour had then it'll be best ever.

"Hello, I'm the Nintendo GameCube Controller Analog Stick - I don't like to brag but I just wanted to say that I am far superior to any stick ever seen before me and after me, and f*ck me, I have no idea why Nintendo didn't implement me in the WiiU. See those circular patters there? Thanks to them, your thumbs never slid off my comfortable surface. I thought we had a connection, Nintendo - I thought you understood the needs of my fellow users... Fine! Carry on cheating on me with the Slider - we'll see how far that gets you!
~Without regards,

The best freaking Analog Stick in the Universe"

id actually prefer circle pads, we gotta move on to something new & different, also i hear the circle pads for wii u were alot better than 3DS & more responsive.

Um, what?

It's not like analog sticks were bad or didn't work, there's literally no reason to NOT use them. I'll give the 3DS and PSP a pass on this regard since they're trying to be a bit more portable (not saying the Vita can't be portable, but the analogs certainly don't help), but for a console it's just really retarded.

Also Nintendo has made the notoriously good analog sticks of the Gamecube and even the Wii Nunchuck/Classic Controller. I'll admit the Gamecube stick is admittedly one of the better ones. It's actually awesome for fighters if you're not loser enough to buy a fight pad.

New and different doesn't necessarily mean "better", and "better" should be our main focus. If using rectangular wheels rather then round ones would become the latest trend, would you switch your car wheels? No, because the round ones are *clearly* better in many respects. Look at how your thumb is constructed - it's much more comfortable to manipulate it in 3D space rather then to push and pull with it - the altitude of your thumb changes depending on its position because it's mounted on a semi-sphere joint. What else is based on a joint that's shaped like half-a-sphere? Oh, yeah - analog sticks.

Sliders are a good idea when there are certain space constraints and the analog input has to come from a flat device. On a full-scale controller though I just don't see a point.

I would really prefer an analog stick. I cannot see how the circle pad is superior unless I'm missing something.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. What's the operating word? The circle pad is as analog as an analog stick. Maybe you meant to highlight the stick part instead?

I bolded the word becuase someone spelt "analog" as "analogue". Both spellings are correct. One is just used more than the other. (Similar to the word colour/color) I was just trying to troll that person. NBD.
It's not used more.

"Analog" is the American spelling of 'analogue', that's it.

Should really get back on topic,

Yes, GC analog sticks needs to make a comeback.
The octagonal shapes around the sticks, the grip, the satisfying sound it made when you slammed it to one direction.
I don't know if I would have made it trough F-Zero GX without it.

sorry not sure why my text was black.
& never said analog sticks were bad.
the ones on gamecube controller, nunchuck, & classic controller/pro weren't bad.
just think it be interesting to see what the c-pads would be like on a console, after using nothing but analogs & d-pads for so long.

& like i said never said better but couldnt be that bad, i hear there better than the "3DS" ones tho & more responsive.
also im not sure what circle & square wheels have to do with anything. o.O bad example lol
analog sticks & c-pads do the same thing & same shape, same directions, just the analog sticks angle & c-pads slide.
you should have used mac & pc lol they do the same thing but different methods. :ninja:

Not crazy about the 3DS slide pad, my thumb slides off of it.

The GC analogue sticks were _decent_ but still not my favorite. My thumbs slide off of it too after extended gameplay.

N64 analogue stick... same

Xbox 360 analogue stick is good if it's on a new controller. Older worn out controllers, my thumb slides off.

Best analogue sticks I've ever touched were on the Logitech Cordless Precision Controller for the original Xbox. I loved that thing so much that I wired an inline release to the wireless module so I could swap out the Xbox connector for a USB one and use it on my pc.

This thing... oh, yes, the memories are flooding back :3 the sticks on these are a fairly textured rubber. I've put this thing through more game hours than I did on any other controller and it's holding up better than ny other controller I had used.
