Why do he needs to boot his homebrew two times ?
Because he's not applying all patches at the same time. Although crediar has already advanced pretty far, these hacks are still in the experimental stage.

ISO loader? Homebrew-self booting discs? Unbricker? Looks VERY interesting

i had a dream about an iso loader last night, killplaystaion sent me the code, something to do with an offsert of 0x0027 or something in the region patch, which made it not set a region or system menu at all which unlocked it for an iso loader or something, then the system menu was messed up and u had to guess where to click, go on the channel befor the disc channel, and but the game in then press - on the pad and the game would load, amazing dream, pissed off when i woke up

anyway, this is good stuff, it seems like it installs over boot2 correct? or patches boot2 to load this new menu code before it loads the system menu.

if it did install as part of the wii and not a program that needs to be loaded then that would be cool as F***, to have all the region free n stuff

not really interesting i think. because the waiting time is the same (only now with a black screen instead of the health screen)

Time before someone posts to ask if it could lead to a ISO Loader/Softmod : 3 posts.

well, what did you think that part meant? And I didn't ask, I was pondering what that could mean.

I don't see why to use this, a screen with some text (even if useless) it's better than a black one. :\

Great! ^^

Is there a build in rescue menu in the Wii? °°
QUOTE*rescue menu patch to boot everything not just diag-discs
If everything means... everything (XD) it's really good!
QUOTE
*No mainmenu BGM
I like the BGM (Background Music for erolz), i would prefer an option to enable/disable it.

the rescue menu might be the thing twiizer team is activly working on, a way to rescue from any brick
this is why I think this gonna be a really huge project, the features you see now are just the beginning

QUOTENow, expect a bitchmessage from marcan within a couple of hours.

lol, do you know who crediar is ? he has worked on the Twilight hack with twiizers (oops)

The rescue menu is built in to the wii but usually only boots diag discs.
This hack makes it so it boots any region wii discs, probably doesn't boot backups as crediar wouldn't encourage that.

The recovery menu boots *any* Wii disc (official discs I mean).

In doing so, since the menu runs even when your Wii is bricked, say from a bad banner, you can go into the recovery menu and boot up the Twilight hack to remove it.

Maybe it's a noob question but... what is a diag disc? °°

least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more

    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
AI assisted game creation might become a thing
