Maybe a custom "healthwarning"? =)

I'd love to have one of these, also. It would be very easy to tell your wii apart from others at video game tournaments and it would be easy to prevent people from stealing it if you have your name written somewhere along the health warning.

it's strange how the author doesn't seem to have said much about this. like, he's not to be seen on any forums; all this is based on that one youtube video and its accompanying description.
i'm not saying this is fake. and i sincerely hope this is real. all i'm saying is that it would be easy to fake something in this fashion. it's possible that it's fake. still, i don't think it is. i think this is possible what with the whole custom ios thing. let's just hope some more details are released, or better yet, a download!

i don't think i custom menu would be *that* difficult. a big problem tho is avoiding bricking. there's a huge risk involved every time you try to test a custom system menu. you'd want to have a lot of spare wiis at your disposal.

Also, for custom warning, it could be message that you would write, like the "welcome" message.

Not really an issue for twiizers - they can just re-flash the NAND if all goes wrong.

no, he had a 3.3E Wii (as seen on the LOOOONG black screen around 2 min into the video

He had English and Japanese channels, and booted a Japanese disc...

wish there was some sound with the video, and some links, or a voice over at least, lol

looking forward to that brick/restore function coming from bushing and co, then people can hack the wii more freely and work on a custom system menu, like themes and backgrounds.

I sort of like the health screen. Just like when someone comes in your room when your asleep, and then they turn on the damn light, it's bright. I think I like it starting dark then going white. I like the idea, I was hoping Nintendo would allow custom menu maker, but they won't. I mean, it's the owner's fault if someone find porn on it.

I liked the idea of a black System Menu. Or custom music. I hope this does good. And my 5 year old nephew plays Naruto EX a lot, so he goes to the homebrew channel, but I don't like that so I put a picture.

So he won't go to the WADmanager by accident. A region free Wii like this would be cool. And stop the risk of my nephew destroying the Wii.

well....i don't say anything about "how dificult it will be", i know this is possible, now, how long time will be spand, its other story...

Though I have simular problems. However I also have a few SD cards. So I dedicate one to my more risky apps use and keep all my emulators and less risky stuff on the other that I keep in the system alot.
I've yet to have any trouble with my little cousins pulling the cards out.
Though so far they find the homebrew channel "boring" as they have commented before.
Same with some Emulators.
Kids these days. Meh.

As for wii system menu hacks. I do like the warning removed but its not as nice as it was to remove it on the DS.
I would love to have custom colors and maybe even images or the like.
Though I think I'd rather stick with WiiMU homebrew app and wait for a custom auto loader.
Wich this hack might lead to.
Would be a ton easier to customize I tell ya that.

Also the removal of that dreaded ringing noise is music to my ears.
So many times I've had that sound stuck in my head.
Glad to see its removable.
A replacement might be nice though, but overall silence is alot better.
