The long awaited update is here! You can now load games directly from the SD card, the game still needs to be loaded to your main memory though, but.. it's better than nothing.

Some people report that SDHC cards are now working, can't confirm it.
CONFIRMED! At GDC, Wii now supports SDHC up to 32GB.


CAUTION HOMEBREW USERS - Wiibrew reports that IOS16 is being replaced on the update, blocking firmware downgrading. No information about effects in the Homebrew Channel yet.

Sorry, I just used my Wii. No update, and April Fools is still about a week away.
 
I'm taking it this is their storage solution they've been promising. I'm also taking this is just for DLC content, not actual games unless you're counting WiiWare and VC as actual games.

i'm glad they added that support, lol in time we will find a way to hack it.
lol, I'm really waiting for external USB hard drives.
