what happens to CIOSCORPS after updating to 4.0 and would i still be able to reinstall preloader?

You SHOULD NOT be able to install cioscorp again, but I haven´t tested it by myself, so I can´t be sure about that.

what CIOScorp does is patching the sysmenu IOS, to read backups, and then patch all other ioses to do the same. Sysmenu 4.0 uses iso 60 I think, and CIOScorp doesn´t patch that IOS version, so I think CIOScorp doesnt work on 4.0 until someone makes a new version that patches IOS60 too.

so the whole CIOSCORPS just needs to make a new version i guess

But you should be able to use cIOSCORP through GeckoOS on 4.0.

I hope there is a way to get the twilight hack working on 4.0? Promised my friend i would softmod his and he went and updated yesterday! Lame.

absolutely, i have soldered 1 other modchip and it was a good solder but after i installed it i realized the chip was wrong for compatibility. the newest d2pro is compatible with all chips. and definitely get is with the clip. i was shocked at how easy it was. and be sure to get the tri-wing driver or you won't be able to open the wii.

Follow this steps if you want to keep using your softmod and pirated wads WITH the new 4.0 update:

1. Make sure you have installed the latest homebrew channel

2. Make sure you have installed Waninkoko's newest cIOS

3. Update via the official Nintendo way

4. Now download "Cios downgrader" and use it in the homebrew channel.

5. Have fun using the new System Menu and the new Wii Shop Channel

You can still use your backed-up wads, and you can still ad new wads via wad-installer. You can also still use a Backup Launcher Channel if you have that installed.

BUT WHEN YOU ARE AT SYSTEM MENU 4.0, DON'T DELETE CIOS OR THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GET THEM BACK BECAUSE 4.0 BLOCKS THE TWIILIGHT HACK

Why would I want to upgrade to 4.0 just to downgrade as in step 4 of your guide? I'm not sure I see the point.

The step is telling you to downgrade the IOS's not the System menu. By downgrading the IOS's you repatch the trutcha Signing bug into them and thusly re enable the use of tools like wad manager and such.

Can anyone confirm if backup-loading through the disc channel from Riiskimod still works if you update to 4.0?

I know that the backup channel works, but I'm wondering if disc channel loading still works.

- i updated my wii
- i used ios downgrader

I can install wads, but can't play them via sd card. I can play the ones that i bought via sd card.

This is what I'm wondering. I havent upgraded anything on my Wii in a while, I think I still got Homebrew channel 1.1, and a Wii Channel Gamma, what do I need?
