Hardware Wii Slower?

I installed a wiikey played some originals and a backup. But say, when I borrow a friend's game I have never played I have to insert it a second time because it does not read the first time. Why is that happening? Also, Why do originals speed up faster than backups? When I turn the power if it takes a little longer. Why is this? Last, should I get a better chip?
