I'm building an arcade cabinet using the Wii as the base. My question is, how difficult would it be/what would I have to do in order to wire the Wii's power button to a standard arcade button?

For a visual image, check out this diagram that took me 10,000 hours in photoshop:

There's four push buttons located on the front side of the motherboard. (Power, Reset, Sync, and Eject.) All you really need to do is desolder the buttons and replace them with wire that connects to standard buttons. (Not sure if you'd need all four; Eject is unnecessary if you aren't planning on using the disc drive.)

Or if you don't want take apart your Wii, you can also wire a button on the wii mote's power button.
Only you must find a solution power up the wii mote.

Any updates on this? Did it work? Currently replacing a CRT's broken optical drive with a softmodded Wii, trying to reroute the CRT front buttons to the Wii

Instead of necrobinpong an old thread, create another one explaining your plans.

Posting pictures of your hardware will help explain better your idea.
