Hardware Wii Not Reading Newer Disks

hey all, im having some trouble getting newer games to work on my wii

first, my wii has a wiikey, updated to 1.9x and works fine
i was playing mario kart wii online earlier without a problem, so its def working with my older backups

but i recently downloaded kaze no klonoa :door to phantomile (wii version) and it wont work AT ALL

it is recognized fine in the menu, but when it boots, it just comes up with a DRE in japanese

so i re-burned it again (at 4x like normal) and no difference

this also happened with rayman raving rabbids tv party, just a DRE, even when burned like all my other games at 4x

my wii is at 3.3E and has been working fine upto this point, the newest game i have gotten running is sonic unleashed, and that works fine (burned at 4x also)

does anyone know what the problem might be?

If your older games still work fine, it might just be your burner.

The laser used to burn weakens after excessive use, which will make the quality of your discs worse.
Also, did you switch brands lately (disc-wise)? That could also be a problem.

There is a program with which you can test the quality of your burned DVD's, but I forgot what it's called >.

nope, i havnt changed disk types, and all of the other games i burn work fine

i use imgburn btw, its never given me problems before

I've also started having those problems, but then I patched up all the new games and now there are no DREs.
