Gaming Wii Music questions regarding drumming and balance board

Okay, I've got a few questions on this one:

- I've played the game somewhere and there it was using the Balance Board. I was playing practice mode of drumming or so, I could just freely drum.
Is the game playable without Balance board? I don't have that thing, and I think it's only avalaible if you buy Wii Fit too (is that right?)

- Is there a mode where you have to imitate other songs with the drumming ? Like in Guitar Hero you have to push the right button on the right time, is there something like that for this game?

And in case the Balance Board is needed for some things, what things are that?
And is it possible to make a a patch or something like that is made to get it to work without Balance Board?

The game is fully playable without the board. I didn't even know it supported the board until you mentioned it.

To play the drumming mode you need the balance board.

Yep, it's possible to make a patch.. eventually someone might do one.. who knows?
