Hi,

I now use a Wii Mini with homebrew and wondering if it is possible to mod the system menu to use a componenent cable to get at least a progressive video signal instead a interlaced one?

Or is this a limitation on the Wii Mini Hardware itself?

Unfortunately the hardware is missing the traces and components necessary for Component video output to work :(

I have yet to see anyone go to the effort of modifying the Wii Mini for Component video output. However in theory since the DAC/Video encoder chip is exactly the same chip as used on standard Wii models, you could connect wires between the DAC and the AV port with the required resistors/capacitors and wire up the the mode select/+3.3V pins to the AV port, which should then enable 480i Component video output (As well as enabling S-Video or RGB SCART output depending on the consoles region) Finally you would just need to modify the Wii menu software to enable the 480p option in the settings.
