I have a friend who has a unhacked wii u. Works perfectly fine, has the latest system update with no NNID. When you try to boot into the Wii menu, it shows the health and warning screen and pressing A will show a black screen, not showing the Wii menu.

It feels like a brick of the Wii menu portion of the Wii U. I didnt put it in the hacking section for questions because its unhacked.

Is it a goner or is the some way to bring it back? If you need more information, I will gladly give it.

not sure. I've never bricked the vwii, even when installing a theme, it didn't brick. usually, the vwii will say something like "the system files are corrupted," if it's bricked. I've seen that message in rednand, since you can't use the vwii there. I wanted to see if it was true, because I had heard that you couldn't use the vwii with rednand. it's true. ;)
