I think the real question is.. why?
Isn't your Homebrew Channel still going to get deleted? Also, why trucha patch all those IOS?

That's why I said I did that (shop channel +trucha IOS61 from WIIscu).
But I can make it work =( Don't know what I'm missing.

You already gave them the money

Well, I've got a Trucha'd IOS61, and I updated the shop with WiiSCU, and it works fien for me, so there's no reason why it shouldn't work. :/

Hallo! after reading 33 pages time to write my question...which is... wiikey v1,.. anyone with news about the update and modchips?

Hungry trolls await!! This has got to be the quickest growing thread Ive come across. I still say we should all kick back and wait for the inevitable workaround. More fool the person who updates without reading up first I say. It clearly offers nothing feature-wise, so why do it?

Can this be confirmed by anyone?

doing this will immediately delete your Homebrew channel (and possibly other unauthorized channels)
There is absolutely no chance that FreeTheBug is working with an unreleased system menu version, coding is not magic...
Even if you don't care about HBC being deleted, it *might* reintroduce the trucha bug into IOS56/57 but I wouldn't touch IOS70 either if I were you, high risk of bricking your system menu by corrupting the main IOS

No, this won't touch the HBC at all...

This update kills the HBC...

and FreeTheBugs worked with SM4.0 without any change an does so with SM4.x ...

I've never used indianapwns hack. But couldn't a person just use it to run TBR. Then use it again to run rev14 installer.. then again to run wad manager.. and done?

Wow why is it whenever there is a system menu update Everyone panics? and how the fuck does boot 2 being updated to boot 2 v4 do jack shit for stopping bootmii from installing. just because boot 2 is updated does not mean the signing bug for boot 1 is gone. We simply need to analize all the changes ade to the IOS to determine whats actually stopping us. As for the rest of the update. minor set backs that won't stop anyone for long. Nintendo has done a pretty good job at patching there stuff so far but they still cant stop us. It's a simple matter of finding a way to repatch at least one IOS with the signing bug and we will have beaten them again. We still can execute homebrew code on the system menu so for the most part this was just another wasted attempt by Big N to stop the hackers. Does the new update offer any actual added features? If not just say Fuck It and stay with 4.1 and patch it to bypass disc update checks.

and no just Running tbr will not solve the problem. the update has an update for all known IOS's and stubs to overwrite any unused or homebrew based IOS areas. All the system IOS's have the trucha bug patched out by the update and without it most people cant install new content on the wii using homebrew tools... They have also fixed a few other bugs that may be whats actually causing the hackmii installer to fail. As I said people we are very far from beaten and it's clear Nintendo wanted to pull out all the stops on this one. While they did put up a good fight it's safe to say that nintendo has fallen short of stopping most anyone.

So, in theory, if you 'updated' using the (trucha'd) IOSs along with the System Menu Wad with WadManager, Homebrew Channel, etc. would not be touched?

I know, it's amazing! In 12 hours they've managed to make almost 500 posts in this topic!
Must be some kinda record

OT: I'm still on 3.2, don't see why I should update. Maybe I'll update to 4.1 soon, because of the WiiWare SD possibilities.

Yeah, with modchips, just update away! (if you're not interested in homebrew that is)

Interesting... I might make a BootMii backup and then try this out.
Hopefully with interesting results.

If you do so boot2 isn't touched. BootMii still works.

And Note! Install the SM-WAD at last(!!!), otherwise u will brick ur Wii!
