That may not be a very good idea ATM because apperently this modifies boot2. So there may be no way for you to reinstall your backed up nand. My opinion, don't jump the gun, wait as this system menue really only kills homebrew and offers no advantages as of yet. If what you have works then don't update.Xiphiidae said:Interesting... I might make a BootMii backup and then try this out.
Hopefully with interesting results.
It won't update boot2 if I only install the System Menu Wad (Along with IOS70, 56 and 57).Cmurda187 said:That may not be a very good idea ATM because apperently this modifies boot2. huh ? would you mind explain why ?
system menu 4.2 contains code that DELETE the HBC, there is nothing that FreeTheBug can do against that, it has just not been designed for that
it *might* be the only thing that is done is checking the signature of channels so patching the trucha bug into IOS70 *might* work but its' very unlikely they are doing this (nobody has reported that other fakesigned channels were deleted also) and there are no evidence that the TruchaBug can easily be reintroduced in IOS70 with current available tools, neither that it will make fakesigned channels undetected...
By the way, the channel you are posting is the updated SHop Channel, totally unrelated
I don't see anything like this in the Wiimpersonator logs. If that was the case, I'd think a channel with the ID HAXX would show up there, would it not?--=ZerO=-- said:Nintendo overwrites the HBC with a newer fake-HBC...
It seems that the only altered or added channel title was in fact HABA, the Shopping Channel.9th_Sage said:I don't see anything like this in the Wiimpersonator logs. In my "Tut" i only installed the new IOSes and the new SM...
There is no Boot2, IOS2xx, HBC replacement...
BootMii still does work.
Loaders still work.
HBC is still present.

So I guess it is in fact the system menu that deletes Homebrew, although if it does, wouldn't that mean that all Homebrew wouldn't be able to be reinstalled?

That would seem kind of well...'ass backwards' if that is the case.Xiphiidae said:It seems that the only altered or added channel title was in fact HABA, the Shopping Channel.

I'd say this depends on how it's deleting the Homebrew Channel. I think that if it were looking for the channel ID they could just change a letter of it and it would no longer find it. I have no idea though. BootMii could be reinstalled if the HackMii installer worked on the new IOSes. It'll have to be updated (I don't know if they fixed something or if the installer just doesn't know what to do since it's unfamiliar with those IOS versions). BootMii should install on the Boot2 they install from what I hear, if it could install before the update. But again, only if the installer still worked, which it doesn't.
