Hacking Wii Menu 4.2 Released

preloader jsut came up with an update saying 0.30

wow, that was quick from Crediar

and according to this, it's indeed 4.2 which checks for HBC (HAXX) and deletes it
So, the steps required to reinstall preloader then HBC over 4.2 seems quite complicate though, since you need to use one of the remaining exploit.. or did I miss something ?
would be easier not to use preloader and jsut change the HBC title ID (I'd be using a randomly named one so it could not be so easily detected...)

I'm wandering now...If I update to 4.2 (I've got a hardmodded Wii anyway, so if I ever wanted to use the Homebrew Channel again for anything I suppose I could just load it from a disc anyway...But I've not used it for lord knows how long)...If I install this preloader...How? I've currently got the HBC installed...I don't use Homebrew or anything; it's only my brother who plays on it on 2 games at least.

EDIT: I'm on a dirty 4.1E at the moment.

Hmm its weird! I have a hardmodded wii + homebrew channel!...I did the update and the homebrew channel is still there!

Some chipped users have gotten Error 003 after updating, so be careful.

you are not the first who said his hbc is still present. looks like the checks are badly implemented and don't work all the time.

Ideally I would just like a clean Wii with no IOS's and stuff all over the shop. I'd like 3.2E back on maybe, virgin style. But with nothing installed, I guess this isn't really possible.

when i loaded up prelaoder on my wii just now, it said there is an update for version 0.30 and that he says YES THIS IS THE LAST VERSION... but when i tried to install it i got some error about ios 60 being fakesigned,. so it doesnt install..

Just stay at 4.0/4.1 if your worried. Its good. It has so many benefits and for right now, its safest.

buddy ios70 is copyrighted ninti code. i would advice you to remove it from wiibrew quickly.

There's nothing wrong with adding a page about it. There are pages for all sorts of different IOS's.

Adding a download link is a different story.

Preloader 0.30 Changelog (Via Auto-update)

-added SDHC support
-added a new option to the "return to" setting: "return to: autoboot"
-changed FAT code to only mount/read from SD
-fixed a bug where enabled autoboot overwrote the "return to preloader" setting
-removed netcode, online update check, online update code
-The installer now get the IOS version the System menu uses from its TMD and if the version is 60 or higher applies the ES_DIVerify patch

When I go to update from 0.28, I get "File not found on server." Oh well... Not sure what it does to counter 4.2 measures except maybe prevents 4.2 from updating at all?
