Hacking Wii Mame

Just got this to work and got thinking how cool it would be to get 2 x-arcade dual joysticks with the GameCube adapters and set it all up for amazing 4 player TMNT.

Now my question is this. The Classic controllers for the Wii won't sync to the Wii once I boot Wii Mame from the Homebrew Screen. I only found out the other day that you need to use GameCube controllers to play the games.

Would any GameCube Fight Sticks work using this set up?

I only say this as I'm very tempted to get the 2 x-arcade dual joysticks rip them apart and using the adapter have it all contained in a cabinet ala fake Mame machine.

Hope someone can confirm this for me

You should really check out retroarch if you like arcade games on your wii.
Btw tmnt plays and runs like a dream in retroarch fba core.
